[quote="all4degame if your daughter does well in school then you should reward her a car (tc!!!!) as a gift on her 17th or 18th birthday.[/quote]

THEN she would be a spoiled brat!

Gosh I'm suprised theres no love agreeing with the original poster. For christ sake 16 year olds are getting new cars

I hate to say it but this thread is getting way out of hand and is one huge flame fest. He wont even respond. This should probably be locked as its now just one huge attack and serves no function.

I bought every car I have ever had due to hard times our family was going through during those years, as well as helping my mother buy a different car before I bought my first one, so I completely understand the appreciation you recieve from buying your own. My son will also pay for as much of his own as he can as well as his insurance. I believe in helping your kids, which my family always did when they could, but making them take as much responsibility as possible. I dont mind taking on part responsibility for his car as long as he works and does his part as well. That is one of the best lessons a teenager could learn IMO. They have to learn it before they get out of school!

But, I do think the original poster is wound a little too tight over something like this. It is one thing to have opinions and a another to pop a blood vessel over something that really has no effect on you.

lol i use to think like that but then it hit me, mommy and daddy also pay for their insurance and their tickets, they are losers dont even worry about it, you cant take pride in something you didnt buy, the end. I could have bought a corvette if i wanted 400 a month monthly payments and im only 18. I decided i wanted to pay the car off in a year and a half and just pay for insurance after that and do hella crazy mods thats why I appreciate my own car and dont really care about other people and mommy and daddy buying it for them, because you honestly cant take pride in them doing so. but if so when they come out on the streets and act all big and try racing you ...you know they cant! so I win! lol.

Ill see you at the red light on the highway much love

I don't see what the big deal is. When I was 18 I bought a 79 T-bird from my dad for 200 bucks. He couldn't afford to buy me a new car. I hope one day that I will be able to do that for my kids. Don't get me wrong they are going to have to keep grades up and do things around the house but I wouldn't mind.
I honestly wish I could have gotten a brand new car. I had to quit college when the Thunderbird died because I couldn't get back and forth to school. (no buses where i lived) I finally bought my dad's Dodge 600 when he got a new truck. again for 200 bucks. When I had wheels again, I went back to school.

Now i appreciated those 200 dollar cars. my dad could have sold them for more but he wanted me to buy it. If kids work hard.. and stay out of trouble i see no reason why they shouldn't have a brand new car. If they are slackers and get into too much trouble a new car, or any car for that matter, is out of the question.

Just remember the kids driving brand new 50k plus cars probably have parents that are never home, don't give a crap, and are trying to buy thier kids affection

im 18 now but i had purchased my bsp tc about 2 months ago. my parents gac me $3000 for birthday and graduation presents. I got 1600 for my car and the rest i am payign off. My parents also payed the car off on the credit card so i will not have to pay interest. So instead of me payign toyota financial i am paying my parents. And instead of paying $250 a month for 5 years im payign $250 a month for 3 years in order to have my car payed off

You know, I hate these kind of posts... there is nothing wrong with getting a Scion as a present. I'm getting a new TC as my undergrad graduation present, and my parents bought me two new Jettas; 1 in high school, and one when I started university.

I don't see how the success of my parents, or the success of anyone that allows them to give the Scion as a gift hurts you. God forbid that my parents actually went to law and medical school, god forbid that they made an effort to better themselves with an education, god forbid that they actually enjoy the benefits of all of their hard work, god forbid that they want to do whatever they can to make sure that their kids have the best possible start in life. Anyone who has wealth must be a spoiled ___, huh? What a load of BS. Cry me a river.

some people are more fortunate than others, some people appreciate what they have, some dont, end of story

life is like a game of risk.... you cant determine your starting position (place you were born, or parents you were born to), but in order to come up on top, you have to make the best of it

How far do you live from school? Couldn't you just take the bus?
my school wasn't even in the same city. I dont see how this matters anyways. Would u like to take the bus? I dont think anyone enjoys taking a bus.

I think it is relevant. Sometimes you have to do things you don't like doing. How bad is it to take the bus to get home? It's free and it gets you home. At least he had a ride home. I use to walk 4-5 miles home everyday from school. Like you said "you dont know everyone's story so u can stfu :D"
ok look here dumb **** the school i went to was three cities away. Why? because it was a better school. School buses wouldn't even have came to my house. So am i suppose to wake up 3 hours early to take a public bus?

Do talk like you're all Mr. Bas butt. If u could of had it u would of taken it. So now u an drink some sftu juice.

In your case taking the bus wouldn't be an option but I'm refering to the other guy complaining about waiting for an hour to get picked up. What's so bad about waiting a few just to get home?

You wrote a very pro-capitalist post. Its ironic considering your communist flag avatar.

Actually, it's not a "communist" flag. It was used by the USSR, a "communist" country (that's a different debate all together) but the hammer and sickle represents the power of the worker, or the citizen.

sometimes even longer. depends on the traffic on the corronado bridge which is a mile long bridge in san diego. my dad has to cross that bridge everyday after work around 2:00 pm and i get out at 2:15. my dad's job to my school is about 25+ miles away. do the math.
