Its been a while since I've read this forum everyday, but now its about time to buy a new car. I remember people complaining about, and I definetly noticed when i test drove one, that there were some very annoying rattles from the sunroof. Is this still a problem with ones being built now, or have they sorted that out?

Also, are there any other big problems with the car? How are they holding up now that people have had them for a couple of months?

 

The sunroof noise is gone. The new problem people are having are hatchback rattle. Only a matter of time a TSB is written for that one too

By car has an october build date and it has zero problems... (Aside from any cause by myself, hehe)

 

Sunroof "rattle" was covered by the screw-tightening TSB. (Sunroof "pop" is a standard feature of all-glass roofs, but I haven't had that either.)

What people think is a "hatchback rattle problem" is probably not the same for each person. The cargo cover can rattle (especially after you've removed it and replaced it a bunch of times), your license plate WILL rattle (and you'll hear it from the inside) unless it's properly secured at the top AND bottom, and a number of items in the back of the car can make noise (stuff in the spare compartment, etc.).

Scion will have to find one standard cause before they'll issue a TSB, and the people here can't even agree on the cause, so it's probably just a case of fix-it-as-you-find-it.
