The tC is a very nice car, which is why I bought one, but it's by no means an engineering or technological marvel.... nor a "drivers car."

Its funny how tC owners want to beat a car that cost 8K more... if everyone wants to beat one and drive one so bad, why the hell didn't you all buy one?
The RSX Type-S is a far superior car in performance and handling. It weighs less, tuned suspension, better gearing and more hp... it's just out of the tC's class. Sure you might beat your girlfriend driving a base auto RSX, but you're NOT GOING TO BEAT A RSX TYPE S!!!
Whew! venting over with now! That is not really directed to this topic, but all the other ones.

I hear ya. I wish people on this forum would quit comparing the tC to all these other cars and just be glad for what they have and not what they might be able to beat in a race.
Although I guess it's kinda hard to be greatful for what you have when mommy and daddy buy it for you, and all you can think about is what you would have rather had had they fronted the extra cash.

The tC is a really nice car for the money. Drivers car, I think should be reserved for cars that are designed from the ground up for performance and poise. That doesn't really apply to a front heavy, overweight coupe with front wheel drive.

if a car is built from the bottom up with performance in mind thats a true performance car that really doesn't take into consideration the driver.

even with fast .23 shift times. thats almost a whole second of shifting. where as the tc has 0 seconds spent shifting.

And by the way, I did beat a Ferrari the other day. It wasn't an Enzo, though.
Here's some of my input... I know most of you saw my "Dezod tC" thread in the General Discussion section...
My tC is mildly modded for the time being. My car before the tC was a 2003 Weightless White Evo. I had a full turbo back exhaust, bov with idle controller, AEM intake, gadgets on the inside, ICE including AV etc...
When it boils down to driving a car every day, to school, work, GF's house (don't have one at the moment)... The tC wins hands down. I had the money but didn't find the car doing what I want. The Evo is just to harsh and plain for a daily driven acceptable car to me. For race though, nothing can touch modded Evo's for the money (and I'm not just talking drag racing).
The tC is smooth, strong, stylish and has the right ergonomics and style to go with it. Add fuel efficiency and you have a winner. I have a house in FL being built, I'm living up here, the money is there... But from the many cars I've owned or driven, the tC is by far the smartest car investment you can make... It performs great (for the money), it's cheap, stylish, reliable, safe, and new. I mean what else could you ask for?
Any other car should be bought if you have specific or higher standards, but I agree with the starter of this thread. I simply ENJOY drivng my car everywhere I go.
BTW- Snow storm right now in NE, so I'm driving an 04 E320 4-matic. Nice car and all, but what a gas guzzler/tank haha...

I don't think "Commuter's Car" is a proper description either. Get an xA or xB, echo, something with great gas mileage. The tC doesn't get bad numbers, but when i hear commuter I think of someone who car pools. Rides the bus, or someone looking to buy an economical vehicle. While the tC is economical compared to some cars. I say "Drivers Car" cause its fun to drive and gets decent gas mileage.
