Default tC HID Headlight Unit

Does anyone know where I can get and if so what kind of HID Xenon headlight unit I can get for my new tC? I've searched everywhere online but haven't found anything so far...

Also possibly LED external lights (Front turning & tail/reverse lights)

-Thanks

check out all the glare! and look at the other photos from this JDM 8000K kit, there's one that shows a HUGE hotspot when compared to the halogen lights.

They have hid kits on ebay for $280. Its not really tc specific the kits will fit any car with a 9006 bulb which is what our low beams are. Just search ebay for 9006 hid kit.

if you're considering that to be good, or ideal, or KewL, then you should read up on hidplanet.com's forums.

HIDRetro's kit is $1300 according to a quote they sent me. That is the price if you need them to get every party. That price does not include a relayed wire harness, which is recommended by them. Here's the price break-down using a 05 5 Series retrofit.

---------------------
HID components; $500

Angel eyes components; $100

tC headlamps; $300

Labor; $400
-------------------

Very pricey, yes, but should look absolutely beautiful, and legal. If you can obtain any of those parts yourself for cheaper, you'll be able to save some money.

i'm almost sure retrofits are NOT legal. however, they're less likely to attract negative attention since the light is properly aimed and not scattered, potentially blinding other drivers.

i got a quote of $1100 from hidretro for a set of new headlights, TSX projectors (which they recommended over the 5 series) and labor. kinda expensive but i'll consider it after i get some other things done.

Since they're retro-fits, they're DOT approved projectors/bulbs/ballast/cutoffs, so, I would assume that they are legal. But, that's just my assumption, I haven't researched it yet. As for TSX projectors, they're not Bi-xenon, like the 5 series. But, looking at their (HIDRetro's) website, it appears that the low-beams for the TSX will outperform those on the 5-series. Personally, I would rather have bi-xenons w/ Angel eyes. ^^

I'm fairly sure they're NOT legal. AFAIK, the law states that cars that don't have HID as a factory option are not allowed to have HID. It makes no sense to me as it should be that a legal unit on any car is legal on another car, or maybe just that HID is legal with certain temp bulbs with correct glare cutoffs. But I'd guess that if you did a good retro and didn't put ridiculous bulbs in it, you wouldn't get busted for it.

down in hawaii the law says you cant have HID unles it came in the car or there was an option to get HID from the dealer...agreed though, they will not cause as much attentino from cops if properly done, but you still gotta pass inspections (safety check, recon)
