Default Is there any way to fix this key?

Long story short, my scion tC key got broke into 2. The key is still intact and so is the top remote thing, but they are disconnected. Since this is the case, my car won't start. I know the remote has some type of thing programmed in it to only let the car start with the remote, but is there anyway I can fix this without going to the dealership or paying a locksmith?

Pics are attached:

You can just stick the key in the ignition. While u turn it to start the car, hold up the part with the buttons close to the ignition also. Since the sensor is in there, it'll still work. You can see the sensor in there in that pic. It's the black thin rectangle part. This way kinda ghetto, but it should work. Haha

The key will work even thought it's not connected? I tried to start the car with the key and the transponder like right next to the key when starting it and it didn't want to start...

Push it against the panel where the key goes.

old thread i know,

but same **** happen to me, cept broke right above the transponder. I glued it thought it was fine for months, one day broke off with out noticing.
Had to call lock smith make a new key 250 dollar fix. Plus it was a regular key no new remote. But the remote was still on key chain, so i have a key with my broken remote.

So i suggest you buy the ebay key fob provided above or this one switch key
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Switc...item3f0a4d128e

Your lucky you still have original transponder connected so just cut it out install to the one's above.
