Thats a completely false and innacurate statement. I have had customers request VIN etch because they felt safer with it and they have had it on previous cars. I know theres some dealerships that pretty much put it on every car cause we get swaps that already have etch on them, but we only do an etch upon customers request for it.
In other words, if a dealer tells you that you HAVE to have etching... if they try to tell you that all cars have it and you have to pay for it, then you know they are scumbags.
Also check the invoice and see if it's going to be charged to you. Even if you don't mind, ask them about it (because I wouldn't surprised if some places slip it into the cost without actually having it done). [/quote]

From what the dealership told us they changed the way they installed the mirror. The mirror pulls power from the Sunroof/domelight area instead of having to be run down the A-pillar.
