What do you dislike about your tC?
Lets see..........
I would pay more than the 16k for a 6 speed manual.
My hatch rattles when I go over bumps.
The radio cover should be taken off. I dont think I have ever put it down.
Other than those few things I love my car.

The auto shift **** is so not cool.
Interior does scratch easily.
Would like headlights to stay on after I shutoff car to walk down the driveway (someone has posted a work-around for this, but it may cause warranty issues)
Accessories should be dropped in price.

I dont like how the sunroof is not one touch all the way back, it goes part way and stops..........also I wish it was one touch close as well, and who the hell picked the dash colors? orange....its putrid, they should have gone with Defi guages like honda uses or atleast blue or red guages......

All around its a good car for what it cost.....the build quality doesn't seem to be the best but hell it only costs $16,495 what do you expect?

Dashboard rattles a bit. Its a frkn new car, I shouldn'et have that problem! Back seats are too high up. Slow. Doesn't rev much. come on... 6 thousand rpm? I'd take more revs then torque.
other then that, it's does what its made to do. so i'm pretty happy

reading all of these comments make me wonder if i should even buy a tc....eeek
my concerns after reading this post is if they're reallie that big of an issue: please let me know
-paint chipping
-rattles
-whether a lot of water really come into the car through the hatch
-do the seats scratch up that easiiy??
all the other stuff aren't that big of an issue for me.
im not a picky person so i would just like to know if im guna be wasting my money or not....thnx!

I noticed a few people mentioning they would rather have rear wheel drive instead of front. I don't understand why. Small cars are more effectively moved by a front wheel design. Rear wheel with too much power would lift the front end off the ground too easily. Front wheel pushes the ___ end down onto the ground when you accelerate and thus you get better traction and control. The tC isn't some bigass muscle car with a huge engine to weigh down the front end. Not to mention if you live anywhere with snow, you'd fishtail all over the place with rear. All wheel drive would be pretty badass though. I'd imagine that would jack up the price by a few grand though. LSD would also be a nice help. If the tC was AWD with LSD I definitely would have spent an extra grand or two on it.
The cubbylight is there so you can see what you put in it. I don't know about you guys, but when I drive my eyes are on the ROAD, not my interior. The amber lights are bloody hideous though. I plan on changing those myself. Prolly won't cost more than like $30-$40 tops.
The truck pop button would be nice, but come on... Is it really that much of a chore for you to push a button twice instead of once?
Sadly the paint does scratch really easily. I'm a bit ripe about that. I got scratches all over my tC from things as soft as round plastic bumping the fender. The plastic interior on the stereo cover I scratched with my fingernail as well. But I'm a little more conscious of my motions now that I know.
As far as the water issue, it is a little annoying when water pours into the hatch, but I never have anything that can be damaged by water in there. Plus, its WATER. How about using a paper towel??
I have noticed the carpets in the front wear off kinda easily too. But if you get a floormat, you're all good.
A rear windshield wiper would be very helpful, but we still got rearview mirrors so it shouldn't be that big of an issue.
De-icing side mirrors would be cool too, but these ain't Lexus' here. Just wipe the damn things off.
Body integrity can be increased with a $100 strutbar. No big deal there.
If you need to turn the volume down fast... MUTE BUTTON. Not that difficult. I have no problems hitting the button like 80 times in a second either though. I'll take digital over analog anyday.
The tires seemed fine when I first got the tC, but now (12k miles) the traction blows monkey ___. I'm spinning wheels when I'm not punching the gas... on DRY pavement. Rims are nice, but they should have given a couple other options so EVERY tC doesn't look bloody identical.
As far as head room, this is a japanese touring car... you want headroom buy a damn SUV.
If you want more power... get more. With intakes, exhausts, and headers, there should be no issues for this. If you want to splurge more get forced induction. There are rally tC's that push 530 hp. If you want it, you can get it.
I'd say that 90% of the issues here can be easily fixed with inexpensive aftermarket parts. The tC for the money is a fantastic car. It fits around me like a glove. Everything is just within reach for me. Most of the interior trinkets are damn near silent. And the whole car just oozes sleekness. The seats are comfortable and stylish without getting into the realm of ricer. Not blistering hot in the summer (like leather) or humid and sticky (like most cloth seats). Not freezing your ___ off in winter (unlike leather). (I personally hate leather in cars for these reasons) You aren't going to get all sorts of crazy power and luxury for 16k. But you will get some of it. You want more, pay more. It's as simple as that.

But, I don't see what the problem is with amber lights. Blue lights are just too much of a distraction -- neon blue is too strong of a color to look at during the night. I think the amber color is fine as is.

I'm not a big fan of the clutch..HATE the Drive by wire throttle. The rattles (sunroof, dash, hatch) and squeaky clutch make me question Toyota's quality. The Potenza's suck.
OVerall, i like the car...but had i known that i would have had all these issues/problems with it..I probably wouldn't have bought it.

Paint chipping: I have an early model Indigo Ink pearl (the color that was discontinued) and my hood and front bumper look like a$$..so many little nicks and chips from pebbles and rock chips ( i assume). I wonder if scion is going to pay for my new paint job since they basically know that my color is bad.
The car CAN be fun to drive though. THose 2.4 liters of toyota power are really workin as the more aggressive valve timing starts. 3000-5500 rpm is a fun range to rip through. NIce pull for a kinda heavy NA car
man the paint issue and rattling are killing me. i only got a couple of minor rattles from my car, but it's less than 2 weeks old!!! i kinda knew about these issues when i purchased b/c i've been reading scionlife posts for a while, but damn, i want my car to look nice when i treat it nice. some ppl are talking about getting a new paint job already and the tC came out a couple years ago. my 91 4 runner still shines when i wash it. come on toyota, you got some dedicated customers out here, please don't ruin your reputation by going cheap on the important stuff. tell you the truth i'd rather have superior built quality (no rattles) and a great paint job and pay more for it. at least i can sleep easier at night when i know my car was a great purchase. and i'm not talking about lexus quality paint/body, i'm just saying something nice enough so there won't be so much complaints about it as major issues. really sucks. but i still enjoy my car, haha, i'd better, i just got it! but it's really hard to take pride in something that doesn't look great on the outside and rattles on the inside.
some ppl might think my standards are too high, but shouldn't toyota live up to it's name and build high standard vehicles?
so is there any way to keep the paint in best shape as possible? off subject: anyone know anything about 5 star shine?!?

Had my TC for about 50 days. I LOVE it. Things that could be improved, Auto day-light with the instrument light off. I canot see the odometer when my lights are on 3-6PM.
The sun-roof needs to close fully when I hit the switch 2-times. It is distracting looking at the sun-roof to verify that it has closed when I'm on the road.
Seats have some stains it was raining the week I got the car and rain goes straight into the edge of the seat when you open the door. Should of sprayed scotch anti-stain spray on the seats when I bought the car. May still be able to do this.
Car needs a light under the hood. This will come in handy one day...
I love the throttle response and the transmission that easily down-shifts when the engine is still slighlty cold. The automatic tranny should have a "power" setting that lets tranny stay in the "warm-up mode" forever! It makes a big difference in car when the engine down-shifts easily and hits the sweet 5K. Feel like you got a ton of power on tap...
Love my TC can't wait to mod it up some more!

Well back when I got my tC it was near impossible to get your hands on one as the dealerships got like 2 for an entire region and they were random. I got lucky that I found a place with a BSP with airbags. The airbags come installed from the factory not the dealership. This one was auto. The only other tC I found at the time was white, which I didn't want, which was sold 30 min. after it got to the dealership. I had just trashed the tranny on my last vehicle and so I didn't have time to wait for the exact same car but in manual to magically appear.
