if thats how you view life, i feel sorry for you, and i feel you need to mature a little. but its your life, live it how you want too

i agree with the saying. "an eye for an eye". but in this case it doesn't apply because your not 100% sure it was that person

if what your saying was true, the police wouldn't be involved in.... lets say a murder that happened in a private parking lot. i know thats extreme, but its just an example.

A call to your insurance company, or the building/property security would have been the right thing to do.
also... this just came to me. if you have to make a post asking if what you did was wrong. you must feel some guilt about it and know it was somewhat wrong. but again... its ur life, live it how u wish.

I had an incident where a lady claimed I hit her car with my bicycle (which was complete BS and I think she knew it because she never followed up). Anyway, I called both the local police, and the CHP to try to get a report of some kind that told my half of the story, both departments told me that since it happened on private property (it was a parking lot to a community park none the less) that they could not be involved in a civil dispute.

I do feel slight guilt but the way I look at it'd call the cops, insurance, and all I would still have to pay for it as my deductable is 500.00 and the mirror is 150.
so lets say this was u in this situation. by you messing up their mirror, they are paying to replace your mirror? i think not. your still paying to replace it. but if u feel the need to damage someones property, or physically hurt someone, i feel you need to mature a little, especially at the age of 24. taking those actions towards someone else, or someone else's property will in no way help you fix/replace your mirror. but like i said, i don't control you, you do as you wish, i just don't agree with actions like that.

like you said "i would still have to pay". i agree with you 100% that it sucks, and i feel for you man. no one likes to see their stuff get messed up, but I don't feel as though u took the right action.

Furthermore, I believe that after an incident like this they will be more careful of damaging others property, because they may not knock the mirror off a car that is owned by someone with your mindset. In which case they can go around damaging property and not have a care in the world. If they damage property of someone with my mindset, i believe that they will be more careful in the future because they are aware that there will be consequences for their carelessness.
oh wells.
if you knew for a fact who the person was, i agree with you. like i said, i agree with "an eye for an eye". but only when you know for sure. and in this case, he doesn't. he has a good reason to believe it was that person, but not enough to KNOW it was them.

"my car was backed into my stall his was pulled into his. His rear passenger door had dinged mine, gold paint as well as the position of the ding in relation to the path his door would take. The only thing now is to connect the ding with the mirror. Well if he had opened his door and dinged mine he would have less than a foot and a half to move around between my car's mirror and his car."
that right there to get a guilt verdict in our law system.
this is it.. i live in atl so i know.. ppl are stupid here... the person prolly put the mirror back up hoping that he wouldn't notice the they knocked it off... parking in atl is tight and very limited... plus he said that there was a convention going on... on that note.. parking was prolly minimal to none.. almost same thing happened to me.. i was walking back to my car.. i believe it was in the international parking deck.. well the one with hsus and hooters conected to it.. and i saw a guy ding my car.. i confronted him and he just gave me a smug look and walked off... so he ended up with a nice big boot print in the side of his... ppl around here are morons and have no respect...
Wow, break away should seriously be an insurance agent... I just got a phone call from a chick thats the agent for a truck that was hauling water piping a few weeks ago and dropped rocks all over my car. One of them gouged my hood down into the metal. Her excuse for them not covering "We're treating it as a road hazard, unless you have pictures it came from the truck" I KNOW they came from the f'in truck b/c I watched them fall off of it... It's a sh!tty day in America where people can f' you over left and right and there's not a d@mn thing you can do about it.
I say an eye for an eye, I'm seriously wanting to take a key to their truck right now
