if you didn't take any form of recourse (police report, bang their girlfriend, etc.) you are a chump. any life will shyt on you continuously. Then you will look to the heavens and say. woe is me. why is my life so shytty. Then the gods from mount olympus will say, [god voice] "you are chump. and life preys on the weak*cue drums boom boom boom* and it will begin to rain.

sorry, that was off topic and probably doesn't apply, but i humored myself typing it up. lol.

but in all seriousness, why didn't you do anything? were you afraid?

He said earlier he was twice as big as them...

the kid that did it was half my size, i was in no way afraid of him. but what good would it do me to whoop his ****? nothing. why do i say this? because then it would just give him a reason to mess with my car again, and the cycle begins again. so i was the bigger person and handled it, and i was only out my small deductible because my insurance covered it.

if thats how you view life, i feel sorry for you, and i feel you need to mature a little. but its your life, live it how you want too

and the odds of our possible story happening are very slim. Well you must be a better man because when I see good evidence that someone did do something I will react, maybe one of these days me and all the other people who agreed with me will grow up, but intill then I will rip off your mirror if you rip off mine.
slim, but impossible? no. if you wanna justify it by saying you KNOW who did it when infact you do not. by all means, go for it. but you were wrong to do that IMO

i agree with the saying. "an eye for an eye". but in this case it doesn't apply because your not 100% sure it was that person

100% not true. police need to be called onto private property to make a report such as car vandalism. when my car was keyed it was on a private parking lot (in which the majority of parking lots in this country are privately owned), and i filled a police report.

if what your saying was true, the police wouldn't be involved in.... lets say a murder that happened in a private parking lot. i know thats extreme, but its just an example.

Thank you
That doesn't mean retaliation is ok.

A call to your insurance company, or the building/property security would have been the right thing to do.

lol, feel sorry for me if you want, but i know there is no way in hell i'm going to pay for something I know someone else did. If they don't put the cash in my hand i am going to get compensation some other way. you must have me confused with a dummy footing the bill for someone else's actions. lol.

Murder is a crime, I'm talking about a dispute.

I had an incident where a lady claimed I hit her car with my bicycle (which was complete BS and I think she knew it because she never followed up). Anyway, I called both the local police, and the CHP to try to get a report of some kind that told my half of the story, both departments told me that since it happened on private property (it was a parking lot to a community park none the less) that they could not be involved in a civil dispute.

woo there buddy we were having a conversasion, but now your starting to cross over into _______ territory and if you were as good of a person as you say you were then your out of line.

I do feel slight guilt but the way I look at it'd call the cops, insurance, and all I would still have to pay for it as my deductable is 500.00 and the mirror is 150.

so lets say this was u in this situation. by you messing up their mirror, they are paying to replace your mirror? i think not. your still paying to replace it. but if u feel the need to damage someones property, or physically hurt someone, i feel you need to mature a little, especially at the age of 24. taking those actions towards someone else, or someone else's property will in no way help you fix/replace your mirror. but like i said, i don't control you, you do as you wish, i just don't agree with actions like that.

wow that sucks man. CA and MD laws must be different. if you call the police and your on private property, doesnt matter. the police now have permission because their is something wrong... no matter how sever the dispute / crime is.

and by breaking the other cars mirror does what? allow you to get a new mirror free? discounted? etc? no.

like you said "i would still have to pay". i agree with you 100% that it sucks, and i feel for you man. no one likes to see their stuff get messed up, but I don't feel as though u took the right action.

well we are going to have to respectfully disagree. I don't view it as them paying for my mirror, I feel that they should experience the inconvenience of replacing their mirror as I do from their careless actions.

Furthermore, I believe that after an incident like this they will be more careful of damaging others property, because they may not knock the mirror off a car that is owned by someone with your mindset. In which case they can go around damaging property and not have a care in the world. If they damage property of someone with my mindset, i believe that they will be more careful in the future because they are aware that there will be consequences for their carelessness.

oh wells.

if you knew for a fact who the person was, i agree with you. like i said, i agree with "an eye for an eye". but only when you know for sure. and in this case, he doesn't. he has a good reason to believe it was that person, but not enough to KNOW it was them.

well with my 15 min investigation I found enough evidence to put him on trial, and I even have a pretty good idea how he did it:

"my car was backed into my stall his was pulled into his. His rear passenger door had dinged mine, gold paint as well as the position of the ding in relation to the path his door would take. The only thing now is to connect the ding with the mirror. Well if he had opened his door and dinged mine he would have less than a foot and a half to move around between my car's mirror and his car."

that right there to get a guilt verdict in our law system.

this is it.. i live in atl so i know.. ppl are stupid here... the person prolly put the mirror back up hoping that he wouldn't notice the they knocked it off... parking in atl is tight and very limited... plus he said that there was a convention going on... on that note.. parking was prolly minimal to none.. almost same thing happened to me.. i was walking back to my car.. i believe it was in the international parking deck.. well the one with hsus and hooters conected to it.. and i saw a guy ding my car.. i confronted him and he just gave me a smug look and walked off... so he ended up with a nice big boot print in the side of his... ppl around here are morons and have no respect...

Wow, break away should seriously be an insurance agent... I just got a phone call from a chick thats the agent for a truck that was hauling water piping a few weeks ago and dropped rocks all over my car. One of them gouged my hood down into the metal. Her excuse for them not covering "We're treating it as a road hazard, unless you have pictures it came from the truck" I KNOW they came from the f'in truck b/c I watched them fall off of it... It's a sh!tty day in America where people can f' you over left and right and there's not a d@mn thing you can do about it.

I say an eye for an eye, I'm seriously wanting to take a key to their truck right now
