That is why I called them "dealer add-ons" not Scion Accessories. You asked about shady dealers, that was just a couple of examples to look for. All Scion dealers are different, you just have to be careful. That's why I suggested to vist Scion.com before you look/order your Scion. You will know ahead of time what's legit and what ain't.

They don't offer those things because there isn't much interest in such minor items, nor is there a massive interest in having leather seats. People would much rather install minor items like pedals and neon crap because they're just as easily removed.

It wouldn't matter to me if Toyota offered more accessories; chances are they'd be marked up so high that I'd just go to a private retailer anyway.
i know your wrong on that end. most scion ownerz will tell you that if leather seats were offered for their tc they would jump on them in a minute. even reviewers like motor trend, car and driver, road and track stated that they felt that seat fabrics and leather is one of their main gripes.. scion is supposed to be about modding your car to your taste which is what drew all of us ownerz to the dealership and also the pure pricing.
why even offer wheels when you can have confortable leather to match. lets us the buyers choose the options we want not manufactor.. choice is always king!!!

Default dealerships

I liked my experience with Steven Scion in Harrisonburg, VA. Dan Breeden was my salesman and was very helpful. No one tried to pressure me at all! I just gave the dealship a review, which should be up in about 48 hours or so in the "reviews" section above. If you ever talk to Dan, let him know that Heather sent you!

i would disagree with the "jumping on the leather" part. scion of hb puts leather seats in every tc that comes in, including the 1.0s. they also upgrade wheels. they told me they do this because there is more profit for them than in a stock vehicle. their tcs are lotted for weeks. i see the same tcs when i drive by every day. they are all over $22,000.00.

down beach blvd., five miles is elmore toyota. they do what the buyers ask and only upgrade with a six disc pioneer and mats unless asked otherwise. their tcs sell the day they come in.

i had an option of getting leather. no thanks. i hate leather seats in the summer and was not willing pay $1800.00 for them. i'd spend $1800.00 elsewhere.

And all those choices come at a price, namely that the bottom line of the car would have to go up to support an expensive accessory like that which would undoubtedly sit on the shelf if it was not installed before delivery. If that was true, then it wouldn't really be a choice. I too would pass on leather, as most people in warm climates would. Besides, a 17k car has no business offering leather as an accessory, when there are other things that cost $1500 which would better serve this car.

if mazda 3 offeres this as an option which by the way is the tc's direct competitor than why cant scion tc ownerz have the same choice. whether it sits on their shelf or not. sorry but some of use in warm climates like leather. even though we have to baby the hell out of the material. i actually lived in colder climates and i now live in maryland were the summers are like 90 on most days( but there are seasons in most parts of this country so lets not forget that) but it doesnt discourage me from wanting leather at all. there is nothing like the feeling leather on the skin period regardless of how much a car costs.

cost isnt a factor if someone is willing 2 pay
made to order is always an option im sure tc ownerz would love if i have to wait three weeks for a custom leather seats to put in my car i wouldnt mind itand its really not a cost issue because companies like nike are doing it and it ends up saving them money becasue they dont have to liquididate unused inventory

we like most dealers offer Leather seats as a option, if you scan dealers in the Metro area you'll find that most dealer offer this anywhere from 950 to 1500 dollars in your choice of color, some dealers use car spa, others (like mine) use a company called sure fit....other after market items we offer are sunroofs (for xa, and xb) Nav, headrest DvD, and a couple of other things too......now these aren't Toyota/Scion items but for the most part you can get leather seats from any dealer around...only thing that might be differnt is the price .....BTW we charge 1200
