Why is everything so expensive for the xA? Tell me something
Is there any difference between the the Ingen intake for the xA and xB? If not then why the heck is the stupid xA intake $40 more? Also, are the springs any different, my dealer told me they where on the same platform and chassis so I dont see why they would be. I can get one or the other, which do you guys think would be best for a first mod? I'd love to lower the car but I really want to save and get coilovers, I dont know how long it'll be till I get them though. I want to start building power, though I dont see how it will help much with a stock suspention. Thanks.
Well..I think this is how it went... Injen first came out with a shortram intake for the xB only. I'm guessing they knew it would sell more. Then everyone with an xA _____ed because they didn't make an intake for the xA. I think Scion gave them an xA or something to make an xA intake. They researched and made two new intakes. One that they now call the Injen RD2105 which is a CAI that works on both the xA and xB. You can shorten the RD2105 to become the IS2105. The Injen IS2105 is a shortram that is only for the xA (since the xB already has IS2100).
blah blah blah
blah blah blah
But whats the difference? length? mounting? can I fit the xB intake in my xA? I want to get the intake but I dont want to pay $40 extra for something I could remount and use. So are all those intakes on e-bay that are around $160-$180 are usless to me? Dang it, I bought the wrong model.

If it was made to fit both, it wouldn't be very profitable to market and stock them separately just to get an extra $40 bucks from the small number of xA owners who will buy one. There must be a difference. I'm sure someone has probably tried the xB one on an xA and if it was a good fit, it would be well-known and there wouldn't have been a demand for an xA model. It probably either takes a little more prduct or they passed on more of the R&D costs cuz the market is smaller.
IMO, you'll notice more of a difference in handling with the springs than you will in performance with the intake. But if you are serious about the coilovers, then that's another story...

OK, I'll bite.... how does stock suspension affect building HP???
Now, if the question is "what will I notice the most improvement in the way the car drives and enjoy the most, an aftermarket intake or aftermarket springs?" That's easy, the springs by far.
With the performance engine parts available currently you will not generate enough hp to become a problem with any suspension.

I don't think people are going to race this cars around corners and such. Yeah I would agree with the suspension thought, but most people are looking for a little more pick up on the straight away. And when it comes to that an intake will do more than suspension. The stock suspension will easily put the added hp from the intake to the road.
