Default will the dealership just buy my car?

so here's the deal...
there is a dealership holding a car for me until one week from today for a $500 non-refundable deposit. they quoted me an extremely low trade-in value on my tC. they are a small used car dealership in a somewhat rural area so maybe that's why... i dunno.
so that leaves me one week to sell the tc. in the event that i have to sell it right away, would a new car dealer buy it from me for trade-in-value even though i'm not buying a car from them?

Probably not. Usually they would only want to give you money for it if you're giving them more money in return.

Ebay that baby. Your best bet would be you selling it privately.

yeah i suppose ebay would get it done within the week... i think you can even do 5 day auctions. hmmmm.
i was going to just put it on autotrader and sell it for as much as i can but i'm afraid i won't be able to find the car i want ('96 240SX SE) by the time i sell it.

haha...'non refundable'...i didn't know they can do that. my friend told me dealer ships will buy your car even if you don't buy from them. i never try that tho... i'm actually looking to trade my tc in at a nissan dealer too. i was hoping it'll save me the hassle of selling private.

check out used Tc's on autotrader and print them out. They are going as high as 22K....yes 22K used!!!! Take that to a CarMax and try and get a good price. The markup on used TC's right now is ridiculous. Take advantage of it.

just because it says $22k doesn't mean that's what they're actually getting for the car.

Provided you weren't dumb enough to give them cash, this shouldn't be a prob. Call the bank and put a stop on the check, or the CC company and ask them to decline the forthcoming charge.

you can sell your car back to the scion dealership that you bought it from...they always want used cars, but you might still owe a bit for your loan

Trading the TC in on a NISSAN? Use the $500 for some psychiatry!
