Question Blown struts/shocks, now what ???

So i’m approaching 60K lowered on hotchkis springs (installed around 15K).
I know I have blown my right front shock because it’s like I’m bouncing on hydraulics when I go over bumps lol.

I’m thinking I should get the tdr strut set and have them installed.
trd struts + Shipping + install = Around $750

To the people that have had their shock blown. What route have you taken ??

You should buy the raceland coilovers! I would have if they were out when I brought coilovers.

if you lik the ride, buy new oem struts, if you want sportier, stiffer tighter handling, buy trd or koni struts.

also, buy new springs, they get worn, and softer over time and mileage.

or if you want to dial in your handling, buy adjustible coil-overs, but it sounds like you don't need them.

just look at this as a chance/excuse to redo your suspension.

I have a used set of TRD shocks for sale. They're actually still with hotchkis springs mounted on them. I might sell it together or seperate depending if the buyer wants both. I'm going to keep the stock tophats though. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Get the raceland coils they are cheaper than the shocks itself!
btw dont get koni. you have to cut your oem shocks and use them as a boot for the konis. you dont need that sh#t.... just get tokicos

why buy OEM struts? so they can blow again? a drop lower then the TRD's are going to blow the stock struts guaranteed every time.
no need replace springs after 45k on em.

heres what you can do. Im pretty sure you have friends or neighbors with a couple tools you can borrow. Get your hands dirty, put a lil elbow grease in and you can save yourself a lot of money. There are plenty of clear DIY's in the the tech section, and on ystc.

Follow the DIY, remove all of your struts with the springs still on em. Go to your local shop, have them swap the springs, go back and reinstall. Most shops wil swap the springs between $10-30 a strut.
