I dont' know. It just seems like you can pay just as much and get coilovers just as good but also add adjustable stiffness.
On the other hand, how often are you going to adjust the stiffness when the whole assembly must be removed to adjust the rears?

Adjustable stiffness is a great feature to have if one regularly races their tC, but if it's a daily driver, it doesn't make much sense to me. Most folks that have adjustable stiffness seem to set it way too hard to the point of physical discomfort and make their tC handle worse on street. And then there's having to remove the entire coilover to make an adjustment. Again, it's great for a race car, but everytime you remove them, you change your alighnment. If one decides to "set and forget" the amount of stiffness, why not just buy coilovers with the proper spring rate and stiffness in the first place?

I guess that's what it comes down to.
If you buy the H&R, which I was considering cause I love their products, and you like the stiffness, then your gold.
But, for the same price, you can get the Tiens, and then adjust it to the exact stiffness you want, and then leave them alone. Your kinda gambling that the H&Rs are just right for your likeness on your type of streets.
If I'm gonna pay more then a grand, I want adjustable everything. If I don't need all those adjustments, I'll go with the cheaper tiens, or just get adjustable Koni's to go with my Hotchkis springs which are the perfect hight right now.

I searched around for a bit after my original order for the progress coil overs was going to be a long wait. My take on it after a few days of reading was that the H&Rs offered great performance and still street friendly driving. I read more than a few posts here and other places that Tiens were incredibly rough and bouncy. So unless you bought the ones you could adjust on the fly they were not worth it. I think that was also look at close to $1500-2000, over the $1000 H&Rs.

Now that I have them I can not complain... I have driven them daily for over a month, and at mid ohio, and SCCA autocross. The improvements are amazing, and while yes Im sure you could find a tighter option, I urge you to find some that compare to the H&R's for both street and track. I would bet the progress ones do, but I hear they are still back ordered, and a little softer than the H&Rs.

As long as you get full coilovers and not "Adjustable coil springs" like the Ground Controll Coilovers. Those are just the springs even though most sites have them listed in the "Coilover" section.
Pretty much, if they cost at least $800, they come with struts. If your only paying $400, it may just be adjustable springs. Regular dropped springs should be under $250.
