Ever get that fixed??
Yeah, it was just a loose sway bar end link.
LOL..I swear thats the most common issue people run into..happened to me to..cept it was a loud clanking sound.

Btw, did the shop who did the install align your car as well? Or if they didn't, where did you go to have it done? I sorta wanna get the install done at a place that offers lifetime alignment, but the only place I can think of is Discount Tire Center in El Monte..

I did not get the alignment done at the same shop that did the install. Don't laugh, but I had the alignment done at Pep Boys because many of the guys and gals in the shop drove lowered cars. I didn't get the lifetime option, but that's because I'm buying tires from a place that offers free alignments for as long as you own the tires.

Bump for the folks looking to buy coilovers for the holidays.

4 Months Later

For some strange reason, I thought it was a good idea to drive nearly 12 hours from L.A. to El Paso, Texas to meet up with my Mom and Sister to surprise my Grandmother. The ride was comfortable and I didn't feel fatigued; the biggest compliment came when Mom said my car rode better than her Acura TL.

Better than a TL?!?! Hell yeah, you convinced me to buy these buddy. thanx bro. question: if i buy hotchkis sways (with h&r coils), will my ride be too stiff for me?? i use this car as a DD and probably will never c a track, but i always want that better handling....should i just go with trd sway, progress, or hochkis???? don't wanna threadjack, just a simple question.

I've never driven a tC with Hotchkis sways, so I don't know how stiff they are. However, I look at it this way: H&R spent a lot of time developing their front coilovers for the tC using the stock sway bar. Plenty of R&D went into the main spring rate, damper rebound rate, and tender spring to keep the wheels firmly planted on the ground and keeping roll to a minimum... I wouldn't want to ruin that balance on a DD. For the rear, I run a TRD sway bar which isn't nearly as stiff as Hotchkis, At first, I switched to the "Street" setting for a smoother ride over our wonderful L.A. roads, but I left it on "Race" after a canyon run and never changed them back, especially after breaking them in. If you go with H&R, install TRD or Progress sway bars.

sweet thanx for the info. i'll probably lean towards trd or progress as you said. the stiffness in hotchkis is like 278% lowest setting...and trd's track is 68%....talk about a big jump. i don't know the stiffness of the progress but i'm assuming it's stiffer than TRD but less than hotchkis. i gotta test drive my friend's car with his trd sway and c if i like it or not. thanx for the help!

I just got mine for 1004 shipped at Cardoamin.com after the 105% price match policy that link the (allspring.com) site to them to get the deal. Allspring.com had them for 975 but shipping was 43 something to Texas.

Cardomain.com got thm for me shipped at 1004!!! Awesome. I shoul dhave them in around 4-5 days after they get them in from the manufacturer, which after i called to confirm my address (high priced item, smart!!), they said i should get them pretty fast.

Cool!!

All i need to know now is what setting should i set them at??? 2fast4you?? Nay help in that catagory.. Thanks bro...

I have mine set at -1.75 front and -1.5 rear mostly for looks, but soon I'll have them corner weighted and re-adjusted for track use. Whatever you decide to set them to, I would keep them above a 2" drop to maintain street performance.

I'm saving up for these right now. I'm sold on them. My buddy had H&R coils on his old audi a4 and I loved them.

thanks... bro.. How much did you pay for your install (i am sure its cheapers than normal spring install since they dont have to seperate the old).. I have the hotchkis sways as well. i might change the settings to Street.. i have them set at the mid setting, so i dont know which one that is.. thanks for your help.

my main reason for getting coilovers is the fact that my tires are huge and on bigger sized bumps i rub my fender, and on turns i rub...the trd springs are just wayy to bouncy i need something more stiff and wont rub, TEIN or H and R coilovers best for this? this is a daily driver and my main reason is to stiffen my ride on turns and over bumps so i dont rub. any ideas? btw my tires are 235/35-19...
