Ok, I have used 3 pieces of standard dynomat, checked all the bushings and bolts to make sure they are installed correctly, verified that the etd was the correct length and I STILL have alot of feedback noise. I feel like it's just amplifying the noise from the engine right back into the passanger compartment. I LOVE the product and the way my car drives, but the nosie is quite audibel! Please help!

Sorry to break it to you, but I'm pretty sure there's no way to stop the noise other then putting in on the 15mm setting, which pretty much does nothing.

I tryed dynomat, extra washers, toilet tank bolt washers (suggested by another member on here) and several other things.. There was always a very noticable sound if it was any tighter then 13mm. I kept mine on 10mm until it broke, and it was very loud.

Now now it didnt fail. You attempted to adjust the damper using a set of vise grips on the jam nut. Ingalls offerd to sell you a replacement damper at a reduced price, most companies would have just told you to buy a whole new kit. But Ingalls was willing to replace it at our cost plus shipping.

For the guy who asked about the vibration issues. The unit will break in and the noise will change over time. I know some Tc's seem to get a lot more vibration and noise than some. Is your car a 5spd or an auto?

They didn't offer me a replacement damper at reduced price. I sent it in to them after sending about 10-15 e-mails back and forth.. I had to take it off my car and pay for shipping. They're going to take a look at it and see what they can do, but they did not offer me a replacement damper.

If Ingalls offered to look at your ETD that means they will look to see if the damage wasnt caused by you and if it wasnt they will replace it free of charge. If the damage was caused by you they will sell you the ETD at a reduced cost. Its not Ingalls fault you didnt follow instrutions

I tryed to follow the instructions, I couldn't find another way to adjust the product.. I actually adjusted it a few times with the vise grips, and I guess the last time I did it, I squeezed a little bit harder. It was my fault and I admitted that to them.. They told me it was a very common problem so they said they would take a look at it.

I really think they should use something other then aluminum hex nuts.

Actually, that's not what they said..

If they do anything they will be replacing the hex nut and then sending it back. If they don't want to, then they'll send it back to me.

If they don't want to fix it, it's no big deal.. It still works on 10mm, I just can't adjust it at all.

No Ingalls will make it right and that is why Ingalls is a growing name in the Scion community.

Ingalls told me it was aluminum.

I doubt it would of bent from small vice grips if it was heat treated steel.

Mine is a 5 spd. It has gotten a little quieter but it still seems very loud. Any suggestions?

Do you happen to know the general/technical manager who told me it was an aluminum hex nut?

Regardless of what it's made of it works. It holds the abuse of the 300hp motor it's been strapped to for the last 6+ months. I dragged the car a couple nights ago for the first time with a stiffer setting and it makes an unbelievable difference.

I just took my ETD off and sold on Ebay for $100 after 6 months use. I got tired of the excess noise and vibration and although it is a quality product its benifits on an Auto TC (Non FI) is minimal in my eyes.
