Install Ingalls Damper
#462
It reduces engine movement drastically. This has both positive and negative effects.
Negatives:
1) Added vibration and increased interior noise (especially at first while its still breaking in).
2) It is a pain in the butt to adjust.
Positives:
1) The noise and vibration can be drastically reduced by putting in dynamat.
2) The reduced engine movement is good on the engine mounts, cv axle, and suspension. It is never a good thing for the engine to be hoping around on vital parts. It puts strain on the mounts and other parts.
3) Because less torque is lost by the engine flying around, more of the 160 crank hp being produced actually reaches the wheels.
4) It is much easier and more comfortable to shift. The car is much more responsive as things are more firmly planted under the hood. Rev-matching on downshifts becomes EASY.
5) It can be adjusted from 10mm to 15mm. At 10mm, hardly any engine movement is allowed. This is really for racing. The wipers actually jump up and down from all of the vibration. 14mm is what I use and I find it very comfortable. At 15mm, there is more engine movement allowed, but there is less vibration and less sound added. I like 14mm for street use. 15mm are for those who want the benefits but don't like the sound/vibration and find it to be a good medium between not having it and having it with sound/vibration.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have questions.

Yea, it has nothing to do wih auto vs manual transmission.
The difference is extremely noticable. The other thing that I didn't mention (which is hard to believe because it is possibly the most important part of the damper), is that is helps to keep the wheels on the ground. I'm sure youve experienced wheel hop when taking off hard (although its not as common in auto transmission). Well with the damper, it is hard to get the wheels to hop.
I actually first decided to get one when I was going into a T-intersection and tried to make a fast move. I basically hopped through the intersection and got no power out of the car. Now with the stiffy in, I can barely get the wheels to hop however hard I try. And like I said, thats on 14mm
