Default iv got a Weird question.... (Hmm)

so i had the tein H techs put on, and they had to remove the plastic wheel Fender's in the back to make them fit right, i have never heard of anyone having to do this, and i just noticed it today, is this ok?

is it something worry about, i know thw front ones u need, so that stuff from the road does not get thrown into the engine bay, but the back is cool with out them right?

mumm... do you think automaker will put something not necessary there to waste money? Although I don't know what's the part is for, but I think it is there for a reason. If the part is not necessary, automarker will sure to remove that to cut cost right?

I don't own a tC, but I can't see where they'd need to be removed to install the springs & even if they had to, they should've been put back on.
The only conceivable reason I can see for them to have to remove plastic fender lining things is so that your tires didn't rub after getting it lowered?
Anybody else have an opinion?

I guess I've never looked at what's behind the plastic fender linings...what is back there that is now exposed? Is it maybe just cosmetic?

Do you have any larger wheels? B/c especially with H-Techs, you shouldn't be rubbing with stock wheels. They probably don't know what they're talking about - or broke one and didn't want to tell you.

I'm on S-techs and 19s, front and rear fender linings are still in place. I ONLY rub on my front left fender lining on big dips.

Hmmmm...after reading all of the replies it sounds to me like something is fishy. I think I'd be asking the place that installed them some more questions.

Not to be a jerk, but I changed my springs a while back and I can't remember there being a plastic inner fender in the back. I may be wrong but the only plastic part in the rear fender are in the front and rear of the tire. They are some sort of air diffusers to help with the aerodynamics under the car. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Its more to make things look clean under there and keep out some of the dirt. They can be removed with no ill effect to the car.

i didnt even know there was a lining in the back. i dont have them. the dealer might have removed them when the installed my springs but i never noticed if there was or wasnt any there in the first place. now my front ones on the other hand are still there. they are tore apart though since my drop is so low and i rub all the time!
