I had the dealership do an alignment under warranty for me.
They fixed my clutch, and after the fact, they gave me a free alignment.
ALL covered under warranty!

want some opinions here. im running htechs, koni yellows and hotchkis sways. my springs are shot i believe. would yall recommended getting these, or just new springs? for $100 more i could get these. hm...
I actually had one free alignment done at the dealer because my car came with a 1 year tire warranty. But they sure as hell aren't going to give some dude a free alignment after he changed to aftermarket suspension.
oh well.. ive try calling local shops around and ask me why do i think i need an alignment? after saying i lower my car they said they are not gonna be able to do it because they cant get it into the rack..
Why would you think your springs are shot though? Springs are not a normal wear item and last a very, very long time unless they are just crap to begin with.
IF you are really going for handling performance (obviously you arent though if you were running htechs before), I wouldnt bet on the cheap coilover/raceland route honestly. IF you just want to drop it and spend very little money.. then I guess. But I always warn that you ALWAYS get what you pay for. And when somethig is super cheap, you may find out why way down the road. I have not heard a lot of great remarks regarding raceland and handling performance anywhere else, but for those that just show their car and drive it back and forth to work, I havent heard much terrible news either. The way the threads and hardware look on the racelands bothers me a bit though in terms of long term reliability.

I bought an exhaust for my DD civic off ebay because its cheaper than OEM, put it on last night...and the shiftlinkage hit the midpipe when i try to put it in 5th or reverse.
and
i bolded the second portion because thats how i have felt about these from the first time i saw them. I just have a hard time trusting something that looks so flimsy and is so vital to the car's proper operation.
i dont think engifineer is hating, just being cautious. if there is one person on here who actually knows his stuff (with the car and results to prove it) it is him.
Personally, these are fine for what they are being used for. I think one person has tracked them and they held up (for now) but we'll see. I hope that they don't break or anything while driving (but the same can be said for anything else right?). I am not worried about these, though I will not be doing anything stupid to raise my level of being worried.

Coming from a guy with a sig that pretty much says you could care less about handling (slamming a car destroys its handling).
I am not hating, just stating what I see as potential issues down the road based upon obvious thread and body design.
And like I said, these may be fine for what you are using them for.. but the construction doesnt look all that great and something like this being that cheap just draws suspicion. 20+ year autox'rs in our autosports club also felt the same when a member was thinking of these.
The tein SS-Ps I run have their downfalls too. Japanese spring companies tend to make springs that wont be super close to spec on a spring dyno, so you cant gaurantee reliability. They also tend to have less consistant adjustments on the dampers they make. However, they are built pretty well (pillowball mounts, camber plates, springs that are close to the proper rates for a closer to optimal drop, etc) for making the car handle for what is available off the shelf on this car right now.. especially for us that daily drive and compete and need some adjustment in the setup.
Honestly, once I get the motion ratios and other calcs together I plan on peicing a coilover setup together that better matches the car and has hypercoil (very good and very consistent) springs, better quality dampers, etc So I am not totally stuck on what I have now either.
Sorry if you take any sort of input against a purchase you are stuck on defending as hating.. but it was still just meant as input.

ive had htechs since ive had the car, 50k miles on the springs. i just recently got sways and the konis, so im slowly but surely making the adjustment, i want it to handle. i cant afford good coilovers right now, i was just curious if these would be an improvement over the htech/koni combo. having known then what i know now, id have coilovers by now.
i think they are shot bc they are low as eff for htechs, way lower than they used to be, as low as my buddies stechs actually. i love the height, but i hate the bounciness, i guess im going to have to sacrifice some height for handling performance though.
i really dont even know if i should drop the money on a different set of springs or just ride it out on the htechs until i can afford some coils.
