Default Parking Brake/ Hand Brake

Living in michigan parking on hills and ripping my hand brake up and down (probably should not use it so much) and using it in the snow for a unexpected slide or a occasional snow drift um my hand brake has pretty much gone

ive searched around and looked all of SL and i cant find anything how much it would cost to replace or repair?

thanks guys

drive safe its like a blizzard out by me

You can tighten it yourself. Search

did you wear out the cable... or did you completely abuse the hell out of the brake and the pads need replacing?

There are 2 points to adjust. Under the handle and at the rotor. Start at the rotors. It really isnt worth taking to a shop. You will pay lots of labor fees. This can be done in your garage or drive.

1. Release parking brake
2. Remove wheel
3. Remove black rubber plug on rotor.
4. With hole at bottom, locate teeth inside hole and rotate up until rotor doesnt spin freely
5. Roll down 3-5 teeth.
6. Repeat with other side (same number of teeth be sure to count correctly).
7. Follow this DIY to adjust handle
