Default Possible Strut / Shock Problem

I was inspecting my engine bay today, gonna do a wash and wax and I noticed the the front right top of the strut the thing that looks like a cap to the shock in the engine bay is popped up on one side!! Is this something I should worry about or get fixed? Is it possible that the torque nut broke? I can take a picture if need be. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks Guys. Pics Posted.

I think a picture would be good. I'm not really sure what part you're talking about.

Take off your cowl and the top strut cover....

possibly your cover just popped off??? or is the top strut bolt pushing that cover upwards?...

still kinda hard to tell

My right one went back down to normal gap now.... Not sure how or what did it but it seems that my torque nuts on the top must be loose that's the only way that it could be moving around. I'm gonna check it out Saturday.

I went out there just to do an inspection, well seems the left good one has 7 threads showing while the bad right one only has like 1 and a half showing. I tried to tighten it on more with a wrench but it wouldn't budge. I'm hoping that if I take an air gun to it it'll work. If not I'll have to remove it and compress it to tighten it down.

Your going to need to compress the spring to tighten it, it's gonna be too much load on the gun to fight the spring to tighten.
