Default Problems with springs installation... Need feedback

Ok, I have had trouble with this place I took my tC to get lowered. I got Eibach Sportlines dropping it 2". I figured it should take about 3 hours and when I took it in to this local performance shop, they spent the whole day on it about 8 hours and told me when I called them to see why its taking so long that they only got the front done and the back was too much trouble and I need to bring it back in a couple days so the Midas shop next door that has a lift can work on it to get the back ones on. THey first quoted me 150-200 and now are asking for an additional 50.00 to cover the labor at the Midas they are taking it to. I said no and Ill cover an extra 20.00. I go back tomorrow to drop it off, I just wanted to know if anyone thinks Im getting screwed besides the fact they are making me come back for something that shouldve taken a few hours not a day and a half. THanks for any input guys.

ive done this in 2 hours the rears are harder but not hard enough that a speed shop cant do . all you need is a really long crow bar to flex the spindle down enough to get the assembly out. id say 250 for the install is fair thought .

good luck with that

I don't think that's right. Why should you pay more because they don't know what they're doing? It seems any other place can get this done in about 4 hours. Why should you suffer because of their lack of experience/skill? If anything they're trying to milk you for what u got.

A shop that cannot install lowering springs on a Scion, is a shop I would not want touching my car....

It only takes a few hours to do. Even for people who have never turned a wrench before.

Thats what I figured. Well after they put the other springs on, Im never going there again. Ive never had a worse experience. My car smells like cigarettes, a small scratch they denied doing (cars only 2 months old) and charging extra for their lack of skill to put springs on... a nightmare. Thanks for the replies, i think I couldve put them on in 8 hours and Ive never installed springs before.

you probably could have put them on faster than they could and for a cheaper price. next time DIY, it will be a good experience.

Oh man I would raise absolute hell if I took my car to shop and it had a ding AND smelled like smoke..the smoke smell would ____ me off beyond belief.

This shop is incredibly incompetent. The rears are a bit of a PITA and I had help installing mine but it was one of the first mods I ever did to my car myself (did it at school in the autoshop) and honestly the hardest part about the rears is getting those stupid plastic clips out of the panelts in the back (which I left out btw lol)

I would report this shop (BBB?) and tell them you're not paying them a penny more because of there incompetence. It's one thing to deny the scratch/ding it's another for the smoke smell.

And wtf? they don't have a lift!? what kind of shop is this?

Took me like 7 hrs too, one back spring took me and my dad 3 hrs, couldn't get it lined up but we learned after that one. The rest went smooth, so a shop should be able to do it in 4 hrs with no problem. I wouldn't pay any extra.
