Is that a stock sized rotor with a new caliper? If so then why even upgrade? The only reason to get a BBK is for increased heat capacity. It looks like the rotor is a 1 peice design also.

OK, I just looked up the data and heres what I found. The kit lists for almost $1500 and only goes from a 275mm rotor to a 295mm 1 piece rotor. Thats about a .8" increase and no increased thichness to help with heat capacity. Its also a 1 piece rotor which will be heavier than a stock rotor which will increase rotoating mass and actually reduce acceleration. I also looked at the website and it says they increase clamping force which is the last thing you want to do when going to a larger rotor. When you move the caliper further out on the rotor you increse your leverage on the rotor and should reduce clamping force to maintain the proper balance.

Save your money and put it toward better suspension/tires and youll be much better rewarded. If you want a BBK, I would reccomend StopTech who Toyota chose for the tC celebrity race cars. We had the top 2 cars in braking in the RSX challenge that just happened http://hondanews.com/CatID3000?mid=2...66750&mime=asc . Brembo only bettered the stopping distance over a stock RSX by 3 feet and that was with full suspension and hoosier slicks. The other brake companies (Wilwood and Project Mu) were worse than stock (about 135 ft). Our best stop wa around 110ft.

BBK is about $1800 and tires...well how much do you want to spend? You could go with a Nitto for about $100 a tire or go baller and get some BFG KD or Pilot Sport Cups for about $200 each

Actually just about any 6 piston kit is going to be way overkill for a tC. Unfortunately people always think more = better and in braking it really isnt always true. If the piston sizes in the 6 piston setup are correct, then everything should be fine, but you wont see any better braking performance than a properly sized 4 piston kit. Unfortunately most companies dont spend the time to test caliper applications to verify proper balance and their kits can end up with severly overbiased front brakes. In many cases this can lead to worse than stock braking performance since the rear brakes are being under ultilized. We recently started releasing kits with our 6 piston calipers and the only applications as of now include C5/C6 Corvette, BMW 5 and 6 Series and full size trucks like Escalade and Suburban. These cars are much heavier and capable of much higher speeds than a tC and can actually utilize a 6 piston setup.

For the amount of money you are going to spend on a BBK, be sure you are getting what you pay for. Contact the brake company you are thinking of purchasing from and ask them what they are doing to verify proper balance and how they thest their kits for specific applications. Remember that a BBK is made for increased heat capapcity for race/heavy duty use more than anything. Reduced stopping distance should also be a feature, but you should never pay for longer stopping distances which happens more often than you may think.
