Suggestions on which brand to buy for brake pads, rotors and calipers?
I am looking to have the rear brake pads, rotors and calipers replaced on my scion tC 2005. I am considering going with the Duralast from Autozone. In the past, i have bought them from carquest (now i think it is part of advanced auto parts): maybe it was raybestos brand.
Any other suggestions? It is a daily driver for my wife at this point. Looking for something reliable and long lasting. She has a long commute so we are using it to log miles (~24K/year). The tC has $134K on it and we hope to make it last until it dies. Based on some of the threads, here it should last atleast 300K to 400K. I bought it new in 2004 and love it! It has been great to own!
Going with OEM parts could be another option?

I've had good luck with Duralast Golds. Have since switched to Powerstop though for everything. Much higher quality parts that perform better. Lifespan will depend on driving habits. Their Evolution series is nice for a dd (what's on my tC now), Extreme if you need an upgrade (what's on my Tacoma).

I see on their website where to buy.. i think i will give them a try.

powerstop seems to have limited reviews online. On autozone they do not have any reviews and autozone does not carry them in store. I found some on amazon with one negative review:
Not sure if I still want to consider powerstop...

Any product has negative reviews. I found them after trying Raybestos, Hawk, Autozone, Posiquiet and stock. The Powerstops are my favorite by a long shot. OE are fine on this platform but they dust horribly.
Agreed. After doing some more research, i am leaning towards simply going with stock. The car is going to be used as a daily driver so i think going aftermarket may not add much value except maybe the dust.
Below is the parts list i came up with. Anything i could be missing?

Since i will be getting the work done on parking brake along with replacing the rear brake pads, rotors and calipers, i would like to see what else would make sense to also be replaced (hoses, seals and so on). Any suggestions? I was thinking of the brake line kits but not sure how to go about that for stock. There are stoptech brake line kits available.

The stock rubber hoses should be fine to keep unless they are swelling or cracking, leaking, etc. They don't typically fail out of nowhere. I replace mine with stainless, but I prefer the braking feel with them and I drive much harder than the typical commuter. I have Technafit lines on the tC and Crown on the truck (truck needed extended lines with the lift).
If the brake fluid is old, it's a good time to flush that out - that by itself will make a big difference in brake feel. But if she doesn't drive aggressively then staying all stock + fresh fluid is totally adequate.
