id say about 99% of the people i know with the KSports love them. adjusting them is a PITA tho, afaik you have to undo the 2 spindle bolts to lower it which sucks.
for your every day coilovers i would probably go with the H&R

I can agree on the stock suspension being "smoothest but least 'comfortable' "; the ride comfort was rather good in the sense that small-scale imperfections in the road are very well absorbed. However, that takes away a bit from being able to "feel the road". Also, in the curves at higher speeds (onramps / offramps, etc.), there was a bit of sway, as well as a feeling of not being "planted" on the road.
After getting in the H&Rs, it felt really different. The very first different thing I noticed was on taking a 90 degree right turn out of the neighborhood at the 10-15 MPH range. I'm struggling to explain it, but it just felt DIFFERENT... but good. I did a couple of quick S turns to feel it out a little, then took a 90 degree left turn onto a main street, and again there was that confidence in handling, that feeling of being planted down on the road. As I went on the main street at about 35 MPH, I noticed that there was a little bit of bounciness. I could more noticeably feel the small imperfections on the road (cracks, eroded spots, etc.), and the higher spring rate seemed to have an effect of making the ride a little bouncy. Larger road imperfections transmitted more kinetic energy to the body, resulting in getting jarred a bit more, so I had to learn to dodge sunk manhole covers, be careful about speed bumps, and start avoiding some notoriously bad roads in my area (there's this one that goes over a creek, and it's like a bit of a speed bump; I had to slow to 4 MPH with stock suspension to make sure the car didn't hit its nose on the ground before; I haven't dared to try going over it with the H&R's).
In general, though, I love the H&R coilovers. I really like the "planted on the ground" feeling when making turns, especially when I have to make an avoidance maneuver on the highway. The "harshness" of the ride is primarily from the harder hits from hard bumps, and the "bouncy" resonance that comes from smaller imperfections. I'm okay with that, though; the thing feels awesome in the onramps, and I like the way it carves through the turns, and cruises down the highway (I just have to be vigilant for rough patches).
I remember renting a Malibu while getting chips in the tC's hood repainted back in April. That Malibu's suspension was absolutely numb and boring.
