I'm not exactly sure where this belongs but anyhow my car is dropped on hotchkis springs, so today i went to tire kingdom to get an alignment and the i told the guy at the front desk i was lowered and he said that they dont do that there and he went to get the specalist, the specalist looks at my car and says it does not have the bolts to adjust the camber and that i needed a camber kit.. i was like hmmmmm, i swear someone on here said u dont need the camber kit with hotchkis drop and that there are bolts to adjust the camber.. is he rite or does it not have adjusable camber to some degree, also he said that i would rub against the quarterpanel if my camber was straight.. Help.. Thoughts....
I had mine dropped with TRD springs/struts. They had no problem adjusting the alignment except that it was the first tC that the guy had ever done. It took him a while but he had no problem. Hotchkiss isn't that low is it? I think as long as it's less than 1.5-1.75 inches you shouldn't need a camber kit. Not positive with the numbers though. All i know is anything similar to the TRD drop doesn't need a camber kit.
hotchkis is nearly a 2 inch drop all around.
i just got my trd springs and struts installed, i'm waiting a week for them to settle to before getting an alignment.
wicked, you might want to call around and ask a toyota dealership, or some other garages, maybe search for other tc owners with the hotchis springs and ask them what they went through installing their springs. since nobody seems to be able to help you, you just might have to help yourself.

I'd say print these out and show them how to do it:
http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...1&parts_id=677
Includes front and rear wheel alignment instructions.
I have Hotchkis installed too, and the guy who did the alignment on mine said that he can't adjust the rear camber because it couldn't be done... I whispered like.. WTF?!? Are you a real mechanic or what?!?! So I guess I'll go back when I have the time and show him the instructions. Good thing it's a lifetime alignment, so I don't have to worry paying again.

i wonder what it will be like to drive my tomorrow on the interstate with my new trd drop and no alignment...guess i should stay away from the triple digit speeds...probably best because the state troopers know spring break starts tomorrow.
okay, first off there are bolts to adjust the camber on the front and rear, they're right there by the toe-links, look under the car up and behind the hub with the wheel off and you'll see them, they're big with grooves in a cam plate for adjustment.
They only have so much adjustment to deal with, and I measured my TRD springs and it dropped it 1.8in in the front and 1.7X in the back, and I could not get the alignment past 2° in the rear without longer bolts, it's that simple. I measure my own alignments.
a "camber kit" just allows for more adjustability, but it also doesn't HOLD that setting like it should, it has a tendency to slip over time. You don't need a camber kit, you need new bolts in the rear.
Of course, that would have been the answer you got if you went to a competent mechanic in the first place.
And again, Camber doesn't kill tires, toe does. Camber changes every time you sit in the car, take a corner, hit a bump, or put groceries in the back. Toe doesn't. Toe pulls on your tires and wears them.
and to Draxcaliber, triple digit speeds are stupid. TRD springs don't need an alignment unless the toe has changed. If the toe is fine, leave it, you'll like the added camber.
