The yokos are a good tire indeed, but VERY poor in the snow. The proxes 4 aren't great in the snow, but aren't nearly as bad as the yokos. Also, the yokos may be the #1 tire on tirerack, but realize that tirerack doesn't sell toyos, so those don't have the opportunity to beat them out for the #1 spot. I'm a strong supporter of the proxes4.
I've driven the proxes 4 in the snow, we had a pretty bad winter in NY and CT where I am. They didn't do great, but at the same time, they didn't get me killed. They got me home from work and then I stayed there.

If you buy the proxes, they have a 500 mile warranty THROUGH AN AUTHORIZED DEALER where you can return them if you don't like them, but it's not like you can buy them now to test them in the snow.
I have personally driven on EVERY tire I have listed, but the only ones I drove in the snow were the Eagle F1's, RT-615's (don't, not smart, we got hit with a flash snow and I was trying it for the heck of it) and the Blizzaks, all the rest were during the spring/summer, usually at autocross events and around the parking lots of autocross events.
Truthfully, you can't really go wrong with any of the tires listed here at all, but none of them are going to have traction in the snow like a dedicated winter tire, just take it easy and you should be fine.
And for the record, I have nothing against the toyo's at all, I already said they were a decent tire, I'm just reinstating the fact that I have NO idea why people spout them off like they're the only tire on the planet everyone should own, they're not the best at anything, they're mediocre, that's why they're ALL-SEASONS
What is the avg treadlife on the Proxes4? I know it's not the strongest suit of these tires and there's probably a wide range depending on use, but I just wanted to get a ballpark figure. Oh also has anyone ordered from edge? https://www.edgeracing.com/ legit? good?

from what wear I've recorded.. it's 2/32" of wear every 7000 miles. it starts at 10/32" new. 21-25,000 until it gets to 4/32". or 30,000 (roughly) for 2/32" which is the wear bars. I personally like to replace tires before it gets that low.
also these tires need to be rotated every 3,500 miles, to maintain warranty. And they need to be rotated that soon to keep even wear.
