I am going to be needing new tires soon(probably june or july) and need some help selecting them. I dont want the best/most expensive tires out there. I am gonna put the new set on the factory rims because I do not wanna alter the car too much before the warranty is over with. I have heard Kumho makes a fairly decent, inexpensive tire. Suggestions?
Toyo Proxes4, best bang for the buck. but I'd say it's the best out there, and not that expensive, excellent dry/wet grip, excellent steering feel, excellent ride/quiet/braking. Just what you're looking for!

My current front pair is fine though, for now.
I'd still say: buy a different tire. I'm getting Proxes next.

Proxes4 is what you want to ask for.. Now practice with me, saying out loud.. "Proxes4.. yes tire shop person I want Proxes4.. Yes Proxes4" Once you get that perfected, you'll be a satisfied tC owner :D
Anybody use them in the snow? I have a 40 minute commute and I'm in the snow belt. I have been debating getting a dedicated winter tire ( Blizzaks, prolly ) and something for the other 3 seasons. My other option is a decent all weather set, maybe Avons. All I know is the stock Potenzas need to go.
This past winter I drove through the snow we received in michigan and it was fine with the Proxes4. It was decent, and got me home safely. I had to take my time, but they worked fine in snow. Anything above 4 inches they began to lose traction. At that point Blizzaks would be the answer, definitely.
But for an all-season tire I was satisfied with the snow performance of the proxes4. all around, this is a great tire.
If you want SUPERIOR traction for snow, then of course the Blizzaks would be the best for that! No all-season can touch the blizzaks when it comes to snow

Just got a set of Yokohama YK520 for my lady's 2004 TSX. She really likes them so far. They have a treadwear rating of 520, are all season, and they handle very nicely. We got them for $494 installed for 225/50/17 tires.
