alright, i haven't seen this yet and based on the chart i think i should be ok, just want to double check

I'm looking at
17x7.5 with an offset of 45 on the TRD kit (RS 1.0)
and the chart says 225 tires. I'm assuming if i go with that setup i'll be all set?

Default Help!

Alright guys, this is like, my first post ever on Scionlife, so i figured i'd ask the experts.

I was looking into some Rota grids, and decided to say "____ that" to buying knockoffs and trying to stick to a low budget.

I went with the Work Emotion XC-8 wheels in 18"
http://www.workwheelsusa.com/product...ry=27&wheel=77

HERE is my question/concerns:

I worked a deal to get a set of front and rear 18x8.5 5x100 with a 34mm offset. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT RUBBING!

suspension is Tein H-techs.

Will this work without rubbing?
What kind of look will this be? Tuck? Flush?
What tire size should I get and will i need to stretch them?
Will I need some kind of negative camber kit or fender rolling to make these work?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can accurately answer these questions. So few people go with legit rims, and when I'm blowing over 3k on a setup I wanna make sure it fits right, and looks good with no problems, ya know?

to you for not getting Rotas.

The 18x8.5 +34 is not available in our bolt pattern, so are you ordering a custom set? Regardless, that combination of width and offset will be flush. It won't be poking past the fender, but it should be in line, or very close to it. You might rub on a full car load or when making hard turns. You can get either 255's and have a beefier tire that isn't stretched or stretch a 225 on it to reduce the chance of rubbing. If it does rub, it's an easy fix. Just roll the fenders and add a little bit of camber.

Thank you! and yes this is a custom order straight from Work Wheels.

Just to clarify: the front AND rear in this combination and offset will be flush?

Additionally, i dont want to stretch tire sizes, so specifically what tire size options are available to me? I dont know a lot about tires, so im talking like, 255/40? 245/45? i dont know exactly what the numbers means when it comes to tires so i'll need a little more specific of an answer please!

and thanks, tons of people are "saving" for rotas. Really? knockoff of a racing brand? Isn't the whole point behind those brands the lightweight and strong characteristics? Might as well spend a little more and get something that has a little respect behind the name IMO

alright, i'll be running pretty much the same set-up as ^ (h techs ... 18x8.5 but +37 instead of +34)
you said he should be alright so that means i'd be in the clear as well
my question though is suggested tire dimensions that would pretty put me at ease as far as no rubbing goes. (i'd rather not cut, roll, pull anything) would 225/35 work for what im trying to do, or not do for that matter

225/40/18 on 18x8 et42 at stock height... that won't rub on the front inner lining correct? (girlfriend's car and any little noise will freak her out)

edit: just found a good deal on 235/40/18 so same question for both sizes.

235 will possibly rub the liner, but 225 wont for sure... i had that on one tc with an 18x7.5. 18x8 will stretch the tire out a little and youll be fine with 225 for sure... 235 maybe, maybe not, not sure

225 will still rub with the liner depends on how low your car and your alignment settings.. less likely though.. i was on 18x8 225/40/18 and it still rubs sometimes, on a really stiff tein coilovers. Now im on 235s and its rubs more, just learn some new driving habits and you can live with it daily lol even on 255s

hey guys i got a quick question about a set of rims and tires:

17x8 et.20 (front) with 205/40/17

17x9 et.20 (rear) with 215/40/17

will the offset on the rims poke a lot from my fenders or will it be a little bit that i could just camber the wheels in a bit? and i know ima have to roll my fenders, which is fine, but i dont want to pull them!!!

You should be fine, just add camber as necessary.

I am on Tein H-Techs and I was looking at upgrading from 17 x 7.5 w/ 45 offset with 225/45 tires to 18 x 7.5 w/ 45 offset with 235/40 tires. Will I have any issues?
