I believe 09socal is running 215/40/17 or 35 series on his 10" and it's a pretty good stretch, I'm running 215/40/18 on a 9.5" and that's a pretty decent stretch.

Yeah, that does look good. I guess it all depends what you would want. More tire more road cusion lol.. Jaewreck is running 225/40 on a 17x10..i also run 225/ but with 35 serie side walls on my 18x10.

Well a guy on Zilvia was saying that Nexen's are known to run a little big so thats why I'm going with 215's. THe only thing really that'll stop me is if I can't find a shop that'll mount them.

Good point on the tire brand...some tires do run bigger than others.. Im sure there is a shop u can find.. Maybe like a whole in the wall tire place may be able to stretch...i live in San Diego, we have a lot of tire shops..but some of the budget tire shops do it lol. Im sure you'll find one.

Dayum, that side must be dinky. I also used to run 215/35 and it was pretty harsh on the ride lol

215/40 on the 17x10
225/35/17s are expensive =P

i'm tempted to go 215/35 on a 10 but I think they only have s drives in that size and they're expensive, and i don't really need the extra clearance.

Ive tried this one my buddys car..he was running the same spec..18x8 38et and we slapped on a 20mm spacer in the front n it was poking a bit. You will be ok with 8mm front and 10mm rear.

Yeah I know! That is just not safe in any way though...
On a side note, upon perusing youtube, is stretching your tires yourself via the "fire" method as dumb as it seems? Or do people normally do that...?

Lol! As far as I know there are 2 ways.

1. Cheeta bead
2. Lighting it on fire

Im not too sure if fire is a good solution for it....but idk. Tire stretching isnt good anyway, but we still do it!
