im looking at some 18x8.5s 48. im not a huge fan of that high of an offset, but if i had 10 or 15 mm spacers, will that offset combined with that wheel width lead to rubbing problems? what tire size would you recommend, and which size spacer?
im on s-techs.
i believe our stock wheels are 7 width and a 45 offset, is that correct? how does the math compute with an 8.5 48? how much further is the new wheel out than the oem?
thanks for any help, or opinions.

You'll extend an extra 16mm from stock. You want to be flush?

yeah, as close to flush as i can get.
do you mean 16mm out with no spacer at all? is that extra distance coming from the 1.5 inch difference of the wheel width?
are there any safety/quality concerns with using wheel spacers?

I'm sorry in advance, but I pretty much have severe mental issues and need things spelled out for me. If I were to get 18x7.5 wheels with an offset of 38mm, would they fit, would they be flush or tuck, and would you recommend doing it.

They would be tucking. It's all up to you. Decide if you want to be tucked or not.

On stock suspension, there would be no rubbing.

If you want to flush, get a 5mm spacer for the front and 5mm for the rear.

If you want a slight poke, get a 10mm for the front and 15 for the rear.

For a bigger poke, get a 15 or 20 for the front and a 20 or 25 for the rear.

Im looking to get some rims. The specs are 19x8.5 +35 in the front and 19x9.5 +40 in the rear. My questions are.
1. Will these fit flush?
2. What size tire will I need?

In lowered on TRD Springs. Thanks for the help!

i think they'll sit flush...but IDK
im scared to ask my own question now.
18x8 and 18x9 et 35 for both w/ a 215 and 235 tire. rolled fenders.
dropped about 2.5 all around on some SS-P

is this a minor stretch at all? will this setup run into any issues??

Add a little bit of camber and you'll be good.

getting my raceland coilovers tomorrow. planning to go tucked

i was wondering if i would have any problem rubbing

current setup

18.8.5 offset 35 225/40/18
tein h about a finger gap
when the car is pack it looks slamm from the rear no rubbing at all

should i adjust the oem camber to anything? or would i really need to fender roll

thanks

id roll regardless. never know when you might want to go even lower.
or add some spacers to push those rims out further

You could stretch some 225's on the rear if you start rubbing.

It won't be hella stretched or anything like what you see on some cars with like 10's in the rear, but it will be stretched enough to reduce rubbing on 8's.
