i painted what was seen, the spokes and lip. painting the inside (where its not seen) is a waste of paint imo.

wooow that drop makes a hell of a difference, to bad im stock height... owell we will see when i have the guts to actually do this mod

yea mna, the drop makes the car look 1000x better... if i were you i would save up 150 bucks and pick ANY spring. lol theres a thread in the suspension section with different pics. but if your a DIYer i dnt really recomend hotchkis. go with tein.

id probably go trd cuase there are a bunch of bumps and pot holes around my crappy neighberhood and the drop is just enough with out worrying about stuff. also do you need to upgrade shocks if you get springs? sorry to get off topic

nah, plus even the TRD drop will looks 100x better. anything lol. just close that wheel gap some. also if you have any tools you should install the springs urself, you will feel like a new man when done :D

youve convinced me! this will be a combo mod! yea ive got some buddies with spring compressors so id do it on my own to get that feeling

Here are some pics of a bronze powdercoated stock wheel....






IMO if you have the available funds, powdercoating is the way to go. A little more money and time up front but a factory finish in the end. I guess with good prep work and the right paint, that a painted wheel is a pretty good cheap diy option, but I still don't know about the durability of the end product. Just my two cents!

scikokid. your wheels look amazing. I really wanted to this but haven't had the funds. I'm glad it looks as good as I imagened.

and I agree with ya on the powder coat. thats why I haven't done it yet. I want to spend the money and get a good durable and quality finish. I suck at painting.

but everyone thats done it themselves it looks good.

thanks but I haven't done anything yet other than Microsoft paint I am trying to find out what is better Paint of Powder coat and which set everyone likes the best

how much did powdercoating all 4 wheels cost you?

ugh. ive been quoted 100 bucks PER WHEEL....its just not feasable...when u can get some 18 inch sportmax wheels from a sponsor on SL for only 550 shipped.
