I'm thinking about getting a new set of wheels but want to price out tires first.

The wheels are 17x8 + 48, I want to stretch the tires a little so im thinking about going with a 205/35/17, or should I go with a 215/45/17...any ideas?

First one is supposed to be 205/45/17*

 

215/45 won't really have any stretch with a 17x8..go 205 or 195

 

I'd also get a lower offset if u can..unless u want a less aggressive more tucked look..

 

i ran a 215 on an 8 inch wide wheel a while back and it isnt really stretched, so as stated above, go with 205 or less if your lookin to stretch

 

ok thanks..yeah im actually looking at a 17x7 now so ill probably go with a 205

 

Nooooo don't get 17x7 those will be sunken battle ships, id say got with your original plan, and get 215/40/17's. No point in stretching tires if your not lowlow. I'm running a 215 on a 10" wide rim...

Get 17x8's with a lower offset like +35. The 205 series tires will give you more of a stretch but just remember that the tires will be thinner. With 205/45/17 tires, the overall diameter of your wheel tire combo will be about once inch less then oem.
