Default winter/summer tires

just a thought to save money and time, what if you put all-seasons tire in the rear and summer high performance in the front during summer, and the just rotate the tire around during winter, wouldn't that give you optimal performance all year round with just one set of of tire? and plus, since tc is FWD, rear traction hardly matters. the only grip you want is the front since we understeer all the time. worst you can do is oversteer all the corners, which is kinda fun actually.:>.
also you save the money for that extra tires and rims and hassel to change all four tires during season change.
since i live in a place where exactly 6 month is snow and the other 6 is dry, it works out pretty much perfect.
what do you guys think?
anyone done something like this yet?

Braking matters.
If you have different ammounts of traction (snows front, street rear) your abs system will not know that , and most likely lock up your rear wheels long before your fronts will. thus casuing bad things to happen.

I just bought a set of 15" winters on rims from tirerack, and will use the stockers till they wear out, then get some super summer only tires for the nice rims. Total cost shipped was like $580. well worth it in my opinion. the worth of good traction in the snow is priceless to me.

No, it wouldn't lock up any of them, as the ABS and EBD will prevent such. Your stopping distance will simply be limited by the tires with the least amount of traction, but there won't be any lockup.

the thing is, you never really need too much traction at the rear for a front wheel drive. and braking largly depends on the front tire traction anyways. so what im saying is little money, like 200 for two front summer tires to switech around so you can oversteer effortlessly.
