Default 2011-2016 Scion tC AF Dynamic Cold Air Intake..

Is anyone running an AF Dynamic CAI? I cant find any info on the company, but it looks like the same design as the K&N with the heat-shield (which I prefer). Is it any good or does anyone know about the company?

I've been running it for almost a year (last june) been running like a charm👏 idk if im the only one who got install directions for a '15 wrx instead lol. You gotta be able to figure it out yourself. it'll take more time than it should.( Took me like 3 hrs)😅 the sorry part is my return air hose supplied didn't fit so i had to install a breather filter as well as a plug for the intake pipe. It did give me a noticeable gain & good sound coupled with no check engine light/for that i'd recommend it save some $$ 👍

Just installed one on my car a few weeks ago. No Dyno tests were done before/after but there is an audible and physical difference from what I can tell. Definitely a little more throaty, and it picks up quicker when you really open the throttle. Only complaint is that the pictured directions that came with the kit were definitely not for a Scion, I omitted an extra heat shield that wasn't in the parts list or the picture instruction so I wasn't sure exactly where to put it, and when I emailed the company they never replied so they have terrible customer service. But honestly, worth the money because its like a K&N knockoff for half the price, but good quality. Had a similar issue as the Rome760 with the breather line, I just connected the new line to the old line so I have an awkward extra long breather that I'm probably gonna fix later.

So I am looking at the K&N but at $329, it's hard to purchase.

Does the AF Dynamic come with the same black heat shield style that the K&N does?

That ebay link goes to one that is $500...haha

Here is one on Amazon. Picture doesn't show the heatshield, but it says it is included in the description:

Might want to check local and state laws. Many states are outlawing "upgrades" that pollute more than federal guidelines. Some state emissions standards are stricter than federal. Some local ordinances outlaw upgrades that exceed noise limits.

A properly made and installed CAI can't possibly "pollute" more than the standard intake. Air/Fuel ratio is controlled by the MAF via the ECU. It's simply changing the location of where the air is taken from.

Now that combustion 101 is out of the way, has anyone purchased this and can you tell me if the black heat shield comes with it? I am rebuilding a 2014 10 Series and the original engine was destroyed because the stock air intake scooped up water from the previous owner due to a 4 inch deep puddle. I will remedy this risk by placing the CAI up in the engine bay.

"A properly made and installed"
