Default Should i change my oil????

My car is at roughly 8,000 miles, and i will have had it for a year in january. So i was wondering if i should take it in to get the oil changed for the first time. I have had the tires rotated and balanced at 4,500 miles by the way. So let me know what you guys think.

Follow the recommended maintenance intervals while under warranty. Your car is due for service every 6 months or 5000 miles, with the oil needing to be changed every other service at the 12 month/10000 mile mark under the normal maintenance schedule. The severe service schedule calls for oil changes every 5000 miles/6 months IIRC, but check your owner's manual to see which schedule you fall under. Regardless, have the oil changed in January. Be sure that the dealer resets the service reminder even though the light won't be illuminated since it goes by mileage alone.
