Default tranny is slipping

so my auto trans feels like its slippin, i want to take it to the dealership to get checked out. i have a cold air intake on it. should i throw my stock intake on it because i know that dealerships love to make up dumb ___ reasons as to why things break... mine is a 2011 with 38000 miles on it. i use the s-shift all the time... could that be why its now slipping? also will toyota be able to tell if it was because of spirited driving? i am pretty freaked out because i cant afford a new transmission. i also have the 10 year 100000 mile warranty... any input at all would be helpful

I would just do it to be safe. My girls 3rd to 4th to 5th almost wants to over rev when shifting from one to the next. It hangs a second before upshifting. Now you got me worried. They are hella picky at some dealerships.

well for me, its usually the third gear where it feels like "slipping" its not like the rpms go higher, but its almost like for a second i let off on the gas then back on

Intake won't mess with your trans. They'd have to prove it caused the damage but if you'd feel better doing it go ahead. I got my 5spd fixed with an intake and exhaust on the car.

If you use the manual shift thing I'd just get a manual next time lol.

Tc1, not a tc2 but thats not gonna change anything

honestly, i get a little slippage every now and again with mine. i'm a 2011 with ~55k miles.

i will mainly get the slip when the engine/tranny haven't warmed up yet and i'm driving slowly through a parking lot. 2nd to 3rd is where i get that occasional slip at low speeds. it's not doing it consistently enough for me to warrant going to the dealer.

and if i do need to go to a dealer for transmission problems, i sure as hell don't plan on removing my pulley, header, intake, or exhaust...

takes a short time to take out the intake...why risk being black balled...... but the tranny slipping could be a hydraulic problem from the oil pump in the tranny or the clutch packs just taking a dump slowly...

i gave it some thought, and i read somewhere that the trans takes about 2000-3000 miles to learn your driving habits. well i reset the battery not too long ago and since then i have only used the s-shift. but once i use automatic is when the issue arises. so i payed attention closely and it is more of a when it shifts i push on the gas a little harder and it has to shift down again, but this all happens quickly so it appears as if it is slipping... im going to reset it again and see if that helps

I think Im having the same problem I rev up sometimes when I brake. It happened pretty frequently but doesn't mess with performance. I'm fully stock. I'm leaking oil too and gettin that fixed under warranty in a few days
