Got busy yesterday, so installed the pads today. Install was very easy and took no more than 30 min total. I'm being gentle to let the pads break in properly, so no noticeable difference so far, but I'll post pictures and a DIY later and a review in 100 miles or so.
Changing brake pads is one of the easiest things you can do on a car. On some cars, it's easier than changing the oil.
I do have one question about changing the pads. OEM pads had 2 metal plates on the backside of each. I know you move the clip at the top of each pad, but are the plates supposed to go on the new pads as well? I left them on, but it's been so long since I've swapped pads, I don't remember.

those are the brake pad shims which ensure the pad will sit evenly and will not be loose in the caliper. so you keep em on. My red pad has black shims as well and i was WTF when i saw it cuz i wanted the whole pad to be red to compliment the red calipers. ill prolly paint em or just forget about it i havent decided yet
Right, but the pads had shims attached. I'm talking about the two metal ones clipped to the back of the OEM pads. They're removable and fit on the new pads. My question is whether using all 3 shims is right or not. I currently have all 3 mounted to the pads. There doesn't seem to be any rubbing, but I don't want to put extra wear on my pads if I don't need to.
So I'm a little late to the party, but after many months of deliberation, I finally bought the Descendant 2.5" exhaust. Gotta say, I'm impressed with the customer service. Not only did the guys at Descendant answer all my questions, when I finally did buy the exhaust, it arrived 2 days later! And, of course, the exhaust is everything I hoped for. I haven't had the chance to take the car for a drive since I put on the exhaust, but just listening to it made me happy.
Also, a quick update on the EBC brakes. I'm back to driving normally, but I haven't yet put the brakes through their paces. For daily driving, the Yellowstuff pads are surprisingly clean and pleasant. Under normal braking, the pedal feels the same as before, the car just stops faster. With slightly more pressure, the brakes really grip and the car stops. I'm almost afraid to really test out the brakes.

Thanks!
donsun: Calipers are really dirty and I tried to touch up the wheel without taking it off and got some plastidip on the caliper. I need to repaint that one, but it's my own fault.
Blackedout011TC: Yep, brake pads are deceptively strong. They feel exactly the same as the OEM ones and driving normally around town, I didn't notice much of a difference other than a squeak here and there. But the first time I hit an off ramp on the freeway, all the stuff on my passenger seat went flying and I was all but stopped only 1/2 way down the off ramp.
