Hm maybe then I'll call up twm and ask em if they can split up my shipment too I also ordered myself the gunmetal M1 Abrams but with the shift pattern engraved. I figured if I'm gonna keep the car for at least 3 years, $16 ain't too big of a deal if it's gonna be permanent

Go for it! Worst they can say is no. LOL.
I'm sure the shift pattern will look great. I went blank mainly because I think it looks really clean. Not to mention adding the "If you have to ask, you really shouldn't be driving it."

Accesorize!
Picked up 2 things I ordered from the dealer today. Got me some Scion valve stem caps the punk kids down the street can't steal and the video cable adapter for the Alpine Head Unit. Incredibly easy to install (About 10 min) though it took me about 90 min because I couldn't decide where to attach the ground. Ended up attaching to the bracket on the head unit itself.
Anti-Theft Scion Valve Stem Caps
And the Video Cable for the Alpine Head Unit

- BluLogic was dealer installed and rolled up in the loan. (In Canada, it's a standard feature)
- 2nd reverse light isn't hard to install, but it really depends on how you want to do it. Here's the link to a thread that walks you thru the process. https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=197934
- I didn't plug the bumper holes. Florida doesn't require a front license plate, so holes are never drilled. I think you can buy color-coded plugs, though.
Heh heh heh... I'm just using my Droid X.

Mine was $35 shipped, but still mounts to the grille. The way I have mine mounted, if you attached the plate by the bottom rather than the top, it looks almost exactly like the tow hook mount.
Here's the thread for the mounts.

those mounts look heavy, are they? also how do you feel about air flow? and if i do put them upside down, could i actually center it instead of putting off to the side? how do you feel about someone trying to steal them, do you feel they are secure?
thanks

- Mounts are solid, but aren't terribly heavy. They're machined aluminum with a powdercoat.
- Air flow isn't a concern for me. Radiators on cars these days are extremely efficient. You would have to put the engine under a lot of load (like towing something or hauling cans of lead in the back), going very slow speed in very hot tempuratures to have any issues. Even then, I don't think the license plate would make any real difference.
- The mounts aren't connected in any way and can be mounted just about anywhere on your grille. To the side, centered, even at an angle would work.
- I doubt theft would be a big issue. As soon as the nut gets loose, it'll spin freely without something to stop it in the back. And your hand really doesn't fit through the grille well enough to hold it in place.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions.

how hard is it to install? i read your initial post about how you remove things, like the air dam?
i thought all i had to do was put my fingers in there but you mention that its very hard to. could you go over what you did?
thanks again!

You have to unscrew about 10 screws from the air dam (plastic skid plate looking thing) under the bumper. It's not hard, but will take you a few minutes. Once that's off, you can just reach under the bumper to get behind the grille.

It's very easy to use and install. Kit comes with AV cables (blue plug) and a harness to attach to the e-brake & reverse indicator (light gray plug). Match blue to blue and gray to gray, run the AV cables (I ran mine through the glove box so I wouldn't have to drill holes), attach the blue wire (that or green, directions tell you which, but I can't remember) from the gray harness to the e-brake indicator and you're done.
Blue wire is really just a grounding wire, so if you were so inclined, you could just ground it to the car and not have to have your e-brake on to have the video play, but that would obviously be unsafe and illegal...
Let me know if you need any more info.

I bought an adapter for my iPod Touch which cost me more than the Alpine video cable! Once I find a micro-HDMI to AVI cable, I'll just use my Droid X.
