Default Key Immobilizer (Security System)

I am about to purchase a new 2011 Scion tC. I am wondering if I should upgrade and get the Security System. The feature I am wondering about is the immobilizer key. I don't want the car to be able to start unless the physical key is present. I think that this key already comes with the car but I'm not sure. Do I have to upgrade and get the security system for this feature?
Thanks in advanced

Now, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a skilled car thief will be able to boost your car with or without an immobilizer. I had a factory installed immobilizer on a Malibu, but all it took to start it was touching a red and green wire together....I learned this after I got the car back, my key no longer worked, and I HAD to hot wire it every time I started it from then out....

It will stop your petty thief who is just going to steal your car for a joy ride though.

Cool thing is with those Toyota/Scion keys are-go to any Toyota dealer and stand near any vehicle. You'll see the dashboard light blink crazy while holding a Toyota key. Then try without; the blink is a normal flash.

Took me three years to figure that out! LOL

Stock Immobilizer VS the scion VIP security system

You will have the same exact key, you can unlock the car doors with both sets of keys

most insurances, at least mine, will have very little to no discount between the two

the only difference is, your car will have an alarm(honk its horn) if someone breaks into your car, the immobilizer is standard, stock. so regardless if you buy the car with no accessories at all, it will come with the immobilizer in the US versions at least.

so the VIP security system only protects the car from point of entry, that is the moment someone tries to get into your car, VS someone who tries to turn on your car.

point of entry security only protects whatever valuables you have in the car which is totally useless since they are already in the car, so any possessions in your car will be gone anyways.
