I agree with you guys that the 1 inch drop the TRD springs offer looks great. The dealer where I picked my car up Had a cement auto Tc with the lowering springs and it looked really good.I'm waiting around.till tax season I'm going tor be picking up some LS. I'll b starting my build thread then.

I'll still be going with TRD springs but not until some camber correction parts are released. After i get the camber correction kit or w/e it is, then I'll lower my car. I don't feel like having my rear tires wear out faster than they should, even if it is only by a little more.

About the sway bars: looks like the bushings are going to squeak no matter what i do. If I do the install right they should be good for a while, but eventually they will dry out and squeak. I got some silicone spray for when that happens. hopefully I can just spray the insides of all the bushings every once in a while once they start to squeak, and that will keep them quiet for maybe half a year at a time.

For those that have had the TRD sways (or any sway bars) installed, how long have you had them on before they started to squeak, or how long have you been going so far if they aren't squeaking for you yet.
I'm guessing somewhere around one year or slightly more (one winter season) from a quality install.

I hope you understand that the rear camber is not an "issue". It is how Toyota designed the car.

I have been running Eibach Sportline springs for about 20k miles. I don't have any issues with tire wear. My tires are being rotated every 5k miles as they should, and the Toyota dealership is reporting no issues.

Yes it does look a bit funky if you are looking for it. Adjustable rear upper control arms are the parts needed for rear camber adjustment. If that part is developed for this car I'll definitely get my hands on them just for aesthetic reasons.

Ask any of the countless members on this forum that have lowered cars. None of them are going to report having uneven tire wear.

The TRD springs are made to work with the car that's why your warranty stays intact if u get them.
Designed for the car. But its your ride your choice

Lol when it comes to your warranty "staying intact", there is no difference between installing TRD springs versus any other manufacturer. Aftermarket parts do NOT void your warranty. That's just bolt-on parts 101. Read up.

Ordered some additional silicone grease online. These sways should be on the car before my winter break ends haha.

As far as springs, I'll get to them eventually. I keep hearing different accounts from different people on here. Many are saying "just do it" because it doesn't cause much deviation from normal wear. A few others are saying the springs cause a permanent alignment issue to get much worse than it is at stock.
After all my car will look odd if its at stock height - I'll have to lower it somehow.

Ok I read it, so what is up with the dealership. They lie just so they can charge u extra for parts and labor?

Does that article go for all states?
I see where It says federal. I'm guessing it is.

BTW sorry for the threadjack.

The dealership words it in a way so it seems as though you will only retain your warranty if the parts are TRD and installed there. In actuality, they just give you warranty on the parts installed as well as the labor. That's it. You retain your car's manufacturer warranty regardless.

No problem man. The Sportline drop is 1.3F 1.7R if I remember correctly.

I don't know if it has been said already but our cars don't respond very well to bolt ons. If you're going for sound then by all means go ahead and do it, but NOT for performance. Don't make the same mistake I did and dump ~$1k for maybe 5whp.

Well it's pretty much a sin not to customize scion tC lol jk
And i don't really like to change its exterior much since i already think it looks good. so without touching the exterior or interior of the car, bolt ons are the only thing i can do to make me happier driving it. I'm confident that I am going to like the sound too once I am done haha!

You're also not necessarily wasting that $1,000. Once its time to sell the car, one can sell it stock and then separately part out the after market parts to get at least a fraction back.

plus these bolt ons will give me some experience with working on my car.

I'm having trouble finding time and tools to complete the sway bar install, but I should be able to do it soon. Doing it outside in daylight so the weather plays a part in this too. I won't be able to install them by the end of my winter break :\

I'm taking this time to figure these things out. The bushings provided for the sway bar links are confusing me, so this is a question to everyone on here who has done a sway bar install.
The pieces go together like this correct?

So that's two of those assemblies for the rear sway bar link. But then what are these two extra "male" pieces for? for the front end links?

Also does everything look right? that's how they go on the car with the washers and all?

Thank you for any help.

When I installed them I felt like the directions were extremely spot on. It made it feel like they were written for a first graders level of reading. From what I remember the picture you have shows what it should look like perfectly. Just follow the directions and you'll be fine. TRD is really good for making the directions really easy to understand.

I remember having two extra male pieces. They weren't used so I just threw them away. The sway bars have worked out perfectly for me.

well that was uneventful. I wanted an OEM windshield but my insurance doesnt want to pay for one since its so expensive. I was quoted at $700+ that i would have to pay out of pocket just for the OEM (and the glass only costs 540). I decided to do an aftermarket replacement at a Safelite place. at $570 with everything included its not a bad price, especially since my insurance agreed to help me and approved this type of cheaper repair. So it will cost me $500 to get a new windshield now (unfortunately that's my deductible, a bit steep). At least i save $70 or w/e.

And those $70 are going toward a quick shifter setup. I ordered a set of TWM bushings and one of these : http://supertekindustries.com/index....ansmisson.html which should basically be a TRD quickshifter.

I hope I can install this thing by myself =P

Fixed the door rattle on this car (hopefully not just a temp fix), so now i can enjoy the loud bass of the sound system. Even though its stock, it is still amazing. You know the audio is working right when your chest reverberates with all the beats lol.
Before i couldn't set my volume up past 39 because of the bad rattling, but now I set it to 45 and its spot on. I bet i can set it even higher but that would be borderline obnoxious.
