in a honda with a vtec, what happens if you do not rev it that high? choppier shifting? I've never driven honda haha.

Tested the sway bars today, as the roads were dry. Woah. you can feel a difference, especially on curvy roads. corners much better. tighter handling and you notice less body roll. makes it more precise. I want to say that cornering speeds were increased by at least 10mph. then again I have not tried to push it to the limit (bad idea, there are no empty wide roads around here) but in regular driving I definitely notice that I can go around curves faster than before.

You can survive with just the stock setup because stock still has sway bars...but why would you want to?

Good mod to do. I just wish it were half the price. $200 sway bars would be much better haha!

Sweet sway bars may b in my future. first things first more low.

VtEC at 5500rpm mite very between engines a bigger lobe engages on the camshaft and allows more air flow. It was made so Honda's can get great mpg at low rpm ( below 5500) then if u rev it longer the power comes in. Basically Honda's have no power unless your reving the ____ out of them. So they have very little tq. I could better explain in person sry if it sounds confusing.
Our engines have a form of vtec but ours works defferently. VvT-I and it sounds cool when u hit vtec engine pitch changes

Link for YouTube.shows how the cam works.

Yep I understand the whole Vtech concept now better than I did before. It's sort of how our tC feels below 3000-3500rpm. good for getting decent mileage in 6th gear at 2000rpms, but not enough power at that point for any quick response in acceleration.
This must be how a vtech honda feels below 5500rpms like you mentioned.

I'll take a decent pic for the profile soon. I just need to find a day when my car isn't covered in salt. its been snowing here every week.

Looks like the Dezod header is the next mod. expensive sucker. I need to save up big for this one.

The Dezod does it have the Cat on it? or is it deleted?
I love how headers make the exhaust tone change. Gotta love the Flow lol.

Yes it has a high airflow cat. Weapon-Rasp is catless.

Lol i like how you put that as weapon-rasp xD
still the weapon R is the cheapest option, and it does improve the exhaust note save the little rasps on some exhausts.
I prefer the Dezod one though. No bothersome CELs with it. And with my stock (and then later TRD) exhaust I shouldn't get any rasp. maybe there will be rasp if i rev it closer to redline but its a non issue because I don't do that anyway.

Have i ever mentioned how much i love the exhaust note of this car? It sounds way more boss than my old eclipse. I love having a manual car. the exhaust is more loud and noticeable than on automatic versions.

ohhhhhhh NOT true!!! lol

EDIT: btw, did you ever get the Dezod / TRD combination? I have that combination and I'm convinced I have the best sounding tC2. Obviously not the loudest, but the tone is perfect.

So true! haha. I was driving next to an auto version of my car, i assume theirs was stock too. i did not hear anything when they accelerated. i definitely heard my car when i accelerated. Also the other time i was next to a manual tC2 like mine and i definitely heard it rumble. idk if it was stock or not though.

But no i never got the money to buy the header or the exhaust. because i can barely just afford car insurance and gas while i go to school right now, my car is staying completely stock, and later, any funds i do save up will be going toward an actual project car (like an evo or something) for the future.

I can't argue with that. I'm done putting money into mine as well. I'm definitely ready to move on to a real car. I regret putting as much money into mine as I have. I've been considering getting rid of the header and intake (love my TRD exhaust too much to get rid of it) to recoup some of my funds.

yeah i'd imagine you can sell some of your after market stuff and switch back to stock to make a little money back and bring back the value to your car in case you'd want to sell it. that's what ended up happening with my sway bars and shortshifter Though i will miss them. i feel happy with stock. btw i am deciding to keep my tC for my daily driver for as long as i can. no need wasting money for a better DD car when that money can be save for a project car

Nothing wrong with stock...especially considering any bolt-ons you would have added wouldn't make it any faster than stock anyway lol.

You had sways though? Which ones did you get?

i had the TRD sways on this. idk if it was just the placebo effect of getting super excited after installing them or if the sways had a super noticeable effect, but they did indeed make me feel much faster with less body roll in corners and bends.

still, the stock car has sways, so i feel fine in corners still. just maybe more roll.

The sways were definitely not a placebo effect. They make a big difference in the way the car handles.
