Then my 1st Scion was a new 2006 Scion xB Gen1 Auto. Had it for 9 years and 177k. Only Routine maintenance Oil, filter.
Tires, batteries, brakes, water pump, and a timing belt.
A couple of windshields and numerous glass repairs because of the high angle windshield is a rock magnet.
But, was the Most Reliable car I had ever own.
It was traded for my Current LUV MOBILE 2015 Scion tC 2.5 Release Series 9.0 Auto. Toyota/Scion=Dependability.
My humble opinion. I am a Engineer. And I have own many cars.

I'm expecting similar reliability from the tC, seeing how it has a Camry engine and was made by Toyota Japan (as opposed to to France, the US or Mexico).
Things I did to it in the two weeks I've had it so far:
Swapped the lame factory stereo for a Pioneer with touch screen, Bluetooth and navigation (check my profile for the thread)
Got new tires, since the car still had the factory tires on it. Bolted on an antenna from a Honda S2000 (fits perfect, and just bolts on).
Next up, install a socket and bulb to have two backup lights.

I got a 2012 tc that I bought new. It's at about 58k miles and it runs pretty smooth still! The only maintenance costs I had to do were replacing my brakes + rotors at about 53k miles, replaced my tires once, and oil changes and fluids. I mightve just been lucky nothing broke down but this car seems to be very reliable!

Well because you have an automatic you'll be fine with the reliability. I have the 6spd tC2 and had to get a transmission swap at 69k miles. Stay away from their ____ty manual transmissions.
