Default Roof sounds like its cracking

So as the Title says, over the last couple of days its been gradually getting colder. Today we had our first snow fall that actually stayed on the ground and when I went out driving every time I went over the slightest bump or road hiccup my roof would sound like its cracking. Its probably one of the most disturbing noises to hear from your car. It does sound like its coming from the rear of the roof but I cannot tell if its the was far back as the trunk lid.

I looked online and the only thing close to this issue is the Sunroof rattle which my car does suffer from. Does anyone have any idea what this is or maybe has anyone experienced this?

I live in alaska, drive in -30 often. All winter long my roof sounds like it's gonna crack when going over curves etc that flexes car body. No breaking yet, and if car glass did shatter from weather I'm sure it'd be replaced under warranty

Yes. Roof is. 2 pieces of glass, hatch is a 3rd piece of glass. It's cold, metal glass etc contract and expands. I notice it leaving my driveway as it's a hill, up then over so my cars body flexes when cold. I hear crunch crunch etc. It's just logic that because it's glass sheets. Cold, body flex with car. You will have sound. lol

Stop freaking out. It's tempered tough ___ glass. Worry if rocks chip your glass and then you get hot and cold days. But I'm not concerned. Unless someone drops things above and onto roof, doubt it will ever really be damaged. Due to angle. Your windshield and front of car takes majority of kinetic force.

Anything a possible though.

I have the same noise that sounds like the glass is cracking too. It was about -25 here. I think it might be the smaller fixed piece of glass right behind the sunroof that's causing the noise.
