Angry Tein Suspension on massive backorder?

Is this a common thing? I ordered from Import Image and they had nothing on the website saying anything about back orders. Come back a week later to check to see if there is a tracking number for my order and they haven't sent it out yet. 4 hours waiting for a reply from customer service and they say the soonest it will ship is 8/10 per a MFR update? What is an MFR update?

Everything is backordered right now with the way the world is, but yes, Tein is backordered often. Generally they get stuff out sooner than it shows, but can't say with the world right now.

Tein's site shows they have the Flex Z's in stock. IDK what you ordered but you should order those instead

Street Basis Z. Don't need to spend an extra 300 for a dampening feature I will never use.

I bought them originally too with that same mindset.. and they're awful and extremely cheap (Chinese made). I reinstalled them AT LEAST 40 TIMES and they would not stop making noise when turning (were silent the first few months, then the issues happened - 3 different sets of top hats, nothing would help them to be quiet - and absolutely no help from Tein). Check my build thread for info on them and upgrading to the Flex Z's. It's extremely worth it for the adjustability and the fact that the Flex Z's come with top hats. They also ride sooooo much better.

There is nothing wrong with them being Chinese made? They are made on the exact same equipment used in making the Flex Z, and every other Tein product.

Here is their blog post on the topic. https://teinusa-blog.com/tein-has-tw...turing-plants/

I'm well aware of how and where their products are made. Having had both products in hand to compare against each other though, the Flex's are in a completely different league of suspension. Feel free to get what you want, but in 6 months when they start having issues remember me recommending a different product. I've been there (and I was as stubborn as you about it), that's all. The Flex's are 100% worth the increased cost. Just skip the frustration and save up for an extra few weeks if you have to.

They are, however, not at all the same equipment. The shocks and springs are both completely different. They work fine on other platforms, but on this car specifically, I absolutely cannot recommend.

You seem to be the only person to have had issues then, as far as I have seen. Maybe improper installation?
