New Fusion style hood by DELTA

Could you make a hood that has the reverse cowl or the hood that autopainter13 made in Carbon Fiber? I would sell my CF hood and get one of those hoods. I think a reverse cowl hood would look pretty good on an xA.

First off this is the tC hood its called the Fusion.
heres the xA version. Not as big. But shorter and wide.

I don't understand what people like about the reverse. I mean would this not bring more air into the engine for the CAI?? I also like this look better than the revers I have seen.

where's the air going to go? Its just going to ram into the firewall. A reverse cowl is much more beneficial. Cars like the celica benefit from scoops because there is a notch cut in the firewall that flows air over the top of the motor and down the exhaust manifold to under the car.
The reverse cowl on the tc is about as good as you can get, Airflow straight through the radiator up over the exhaust manifold and out the hood, perfect.
mark1 mr2s had a similar problem with the aftermarket. People would put scoops on the rear deck trying to pull air in from over the top of the car and force it down over the motor but the factory engine bay is designed to pull air from under the car and force it out the top. So when people put scoops on it it actually decreased airflow.

The story on the mk1 or mk2 has no bearing on the xA. Yes the tC benefits from a cowl design for the reason noted. However, the xA would benefit from a scoop if it is off center and over a short ram intake. The the air would flow directly to the intake filter and any excess would still flow under the car and not be trapped in the engine bay. Remember the stock air box and short ram are located over the transmission and there is plenty of room between the transmission and the lower firewall.
If the scoop is in the middle of the hood, and there is enough room under the hood, you could still channel the air towards the intake. The rest would be as noted above.
The old rules for removing heat from the engine bay (not intake) are still true ... exhaust in front - cowl, exhaust in the rear - scoop/vent, exhaust on the side - side or top vent.

Wow! make a Side vent!!!! I think that would sell like CRAZYYYYYY cause no xA has them. None. But allot of us use short rams.
I use the full CAI though so I do not think any of the hoods mentioned above would directly help.
