Default Anyone get the leather steering wheel option?

I don't see many people indicate they got the leather steering wheel option. Is it not very good, or is it just not worth the $299 in most people's minds?

If anyone has one, is it silver or is it grey. In the brochure, it said silver and it looks kinda silver. On the Scion website, it says grey and it definitely looks grey. If it is grey, I would want it unless people who have seen them think it is a bad option. I wouldn't want silver.

Thanks for any information.

I dunno...I guess it doesnt seem worth it to me. I mean, the steering wheel already looks like that except in all black. Plus, I know leather steering wheels fade and kind of get wear and tear fast. The leather wheel on my last car started pealing off on the top where my hand always went.

I have the black/silver leather steering wheel on my xA RS1. I had it installed the day I picked it up. For me I can't stand plastic steering wheels. Two years and 22k miles later the steering wheel still looks new. I treat it with leather conditioner maybe 4 times a year.

It's very good quality and I love the feel. Well worth it IMO.

If you want to go the cheaper route get a leather cover by Wheelskins. The are about $40 and are very nice quality. I have a Wheelskin on my wifes car.

Thanks for the info. If anyone knows whether the 2006 one is grey or silver, I'd appreciate any info.

A leather steering wheel is probably not as durable as plastic. The car I've been driving for the last 12 years has a leather wheel. It has lasted very well. The top where I put my hands has started to look slightly different in some lighting, but it definitely doesn't look worn out yet. I put leather treatment on it every couple of weeks (I just keep it in the glovebox) and always put the sunshade on my car (and it is garage parked day and night).

For me, the leather option would be worth it as long as I thought it looked good (I'd want grey). I definitely understand why it wouldn't be worth it to others. I was just hoping to confirm there wasn't anything bad about the Scion wheel in particular. If people with it had seen the Scion xA leather wheel wearing out faster than a typical leather wheel, that would make me not want one.

I have the red and black TRD wheel and love it. It feels so much more comfortable than the plain plastic one. Plus it has the 10 and 2 bumps that the stock one didn't have.
