Default Check engine light won't go away?

I got my car repaired at an auto body shop. As I left the shop, I go to make a turn into the road and there's this big dip I didn't see, and I get to the street's stop sign. My check engine light goes on, and the car feels off, it's shaking uncomfortably and quite a bit and nothing looks damaged or wrong, just shaking. So I pull right back to the shop. He says they didn't do anything engine related (duh), says it just means it has to be serviced. But doesn't know why it's there and then I went to leave and it was fine, although the light was still on.

When I got back to my house I did the method to clear the CEL and it didn't budge or go away..nothin.

I'm not sure what it could be..I'm gonna have the automotive store by me check the codes. Any thoughts or input?

Change the spark plugs. Same thing happened to me. Started it up and tried to back out of the garage. Shook so bad I thought the tranny went out.
Plugs were just about totally burned out.
