Got rear-ended! (w/ video of damage)
Ok, so I just got my '06 xA back from the dealer who fixed some damage on the hood from transport. Today, I was on my way to visit family and got rear ended.
I was in a little traffic and was stopped completely. A Ford F250 superduty with a hugh travel trailer couldn't stop in time and clipped our passenger side rear bumper:

I'll take some more pics tomorrow...
BTW, I had just over 500 miles on it when we were hit!!!

Yep, everyone was ok. My wife and our 3-month old son were in the car also. The back hatch is bent up pretty bad and won't come close to opening. Inside the hatch area, the plastic tray that covers the spare is even bent pretty bad.
Thankfully the people that hit us have insurance and were actually pretty nice and all. Of course, their truck didn't even show any damage at all.

dude that really sucks! im glad to hear that all of you were okay. my friend that drives an xA got rear ended by a huge truck with a massive brushgaurd on it a few months ago, they had to replace the back hatch and bumper. luckily the tail lights didnt get broken though. good luck to you and also have you heard about the b-day/x-mas/and install party in Broken Arrow on the 10th and 11th of december? for more info go to the lonestar section and there is a thread about it. good luck to you man
I took some video of the damage... if you have broadband, check it out!

I hope you don't get the same feelings I did after my last car(honda element) was fixed after a wreck- Traitor
Never felt the same about the car afterwards. It was tainted.
I think if the truck were going any faster than it was, the damage to the back wouldn't not have been so much worse but that it would have thrown you forward into the next car.
glad it turned out ok. I plan to keep my car til we parent, or until someone else decides they want to try to kill me again.
(the Element is not the one I was driving that put me in the hospital; I'm still bitter from an incident in 2002)

Sorry to hear and see what happend to your egg, it totally sucks.
I was in the same prediciment a few weeks ago when I spun out and banged into a utility pole and even though the damage wasn't as significant as yours it still hurts to see my car like that so I know how you are feeling. On a lighter note, I will have my RS2 back in new condition in another week and it's an expensive endeavor that my insurance will manage.
I wish your xA a speedy recovery.
