HID problem
Hey guys, a couple days ago I installed HIDs in my buddys xA. Everything was fine until today. His high beams would stay on even though the lights where turned off and the key was out of the car and the left side HID does not work. I checked all the connections and they where fine. Any ideas anyone?

Hid problem
I have this same problem. Both lights worked at first and now none of them do. The high beams stay on and will not turn off ever unless you disconnect the battery. The brand i have is hid today.

I just switched back to stock headlights that the car came with. All those problems went away. My guess is something with the fuse gets all screwed up or wiring with the hids. I would like to solve this problem the post with the beetle was a little helpfull but i wanna know if anyone who has a Xa has had this same problem and how they solved it.

I just installed a HID kit today on my xA and have my own problems.
The problem that I have is
1. flicker
2. speedometer reads wrong
3. tachometer reads wrong.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
When I disconect the kit all problems go away.
The kit is Promax

Sounds dumb, did you try turning the car on, shutting it off, and restarting? If it's still messed up, take the plastic that covers the speed./tach. controls and zero them out, take the needle, move it to zero, then start the car and see what it does. That's what a friend of mine did in his Tc and now it's fine. I just had to shut off my xA and then it was fine...sometimes it's the dumb things, I've decided. Good luck!

I did turn it off then back on several times. didn't fix it.
When my car was turned off and the lights turned off the needles still sat way out of place.
Not until I completely disconnected the HID kit did the needles sit back into place. I watched it happen right after I disconnected it with the power still off on the car.
So after all that I checked every thing and hooked the HID kit back up and went for a drive and the problem came back.
At that point I was worried about causing permanent damage to the cars computer system.
Weird.
